MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />January 4, 1962 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was <br />called to order by Vice-Chairman Philip Landon, in the absence of <br />Chairman Mitchell, on January 4, 1962 at 8:00 P.M. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following Commissioners present: <br />Antonini; <br />Landon; <br />Lozano; <br />Ex-Officio Hohn; and <br />Ex-Officio Dana <br />Absent: <br />Chairman Mitchell; <br />Ex-Officio Kamp; and <br />Ex-Officio King. <br />On motion of Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, <br />the Minutes of the December 21, 1961 Meeting were unanimously approved <br />as forwarded. <br />The Public Hearing on application of Clyde Potvin to rezone the <br />property fronting on Rose Avenue between Pleasanton Avenue and Fair <br />Street from R-2 (one and two family residential) to R-G (garden <br />apartment residential) district, which was continued from the December <br />21 meeting, was then opened. Secretary Fales summarized the last <br />discussion and read a copy of the letter which the Staff forwarded <br />to several surrounding cities, including Hayward, Fremont, Newark, <br />Walnut Creek, Livermore and San Leandro regarding the various concepts <br />being c;~ployed in areas surrounding central business districts, zoning <br />for higher density areas and actual zoning adopted. Secretary Fales <br />stated that there had been only one reply so far, which came from <br />Mr. Richard S. Danforth, Associate Planner, of the Fremont Planning <br />Commission, and then read the letter. A discussion followed, and <br />Commissioner Landon then stated that he felt sure there would be <br />further replies to the Staff's letter and that they should be taken <br />up in a Study Session, then a ,joint meeting with the Council.
