MIPNTES
OF
THE PLANNING COMMISSION
Pleasanton, California
February 1, 1962
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was
called to order by Chairman Ralph Mitchell on February 1, 1962 at 8:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL showed the following Commissioners present:
Antonini
Tendon
Lozano
Mitchell
Ex-Officio Dana
Secretary Fales
Absent:
Rega
Esc-Officio Hohn
Kamp
King
On motion by Commissioner Landon, seconded by Commissioner Antonini,
the minutes of the meeting of January 18, 1962 were unanimously approved.
Chairman Mitchell then opened the Public Hearing on the application
of Mr. Leo Guidotti, 1384 "B" Street, Hayward, for a Conditional Use Permit
in order to allow construction of a 12-unit Residential Garden Apartment in
a C-C (Community Commercial) District on a vacant parcel fronting Main
Street north of Angela Street and Angela Street west of Main Street.
Mr. Guidotti spoke on behalf of his request stating that he has held
the land for some five (5) years in order to put it to some sort of commer-
cial use, but has had no success in finding any interested parties. He
showed the plans for the apartment building to the Commission.
No one else spoke from the floor for or against the permit, and
Chairman Mitchell then closed the Public Hearing, at which time he requested
that Mr. Fales give the Staff report on Mr. Guidotti's application. Mr.
Fales stated that, although the Staff agrees this is a residential area t
present and certainly the building would enhance the appearance of the area,
it is not in conformity with the Expanded Pleasanton General Plan, and that
particular area has been p7.anned as the central business district if the
City reaches the goal set by the General Plan. The Staff had no recommenda-
tion at this time.
