M I N U T E S
of
THF. MEETING OF
THE ELANNING COMMISSION
Pleasanton, California
March 15, 1962
The meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 8:00
P.M. by Chairman Ralph Mitchell.
ROLL CAi.L showed Commissioners Antonini, Landon, Lozano, Chairman
Mitchell and Secretary Falea present; Commissioner Rega, Ex-Officios Dana,
Hokin, Kemp and King absent. However, C~issioner Rega arrived at 8:45 P.M.
On motion of Coffiniasioner Landon, seconded by Commissioner Lozano
and unanimously approved by all present, the minutes of the meeting of March
1, 1962 were adopted with a correction in the Roll Call, namely to show
the absentees.
Chairman Mltchell then opened the Public Hearing on the application
of Emilio Brondolo for a Variance in order to construct a temporary struc-
ture (fruit stand) on his property on the Pleasanton-Suno1 Road in an I-P
(Industrial Park) District.
Mr. Brondolo spoke in hie own behalf stating simply that he wished
to have the approval of the Planning Commission so that he might operate a
fruit stand on his property. No one else spoke for or against this applica-
tion. Chalrman Mitchell then requested that Mr. Fales give the staff report
on same.
Mr. Falea described the location and explained that Mr. Brondolo is
located in the area which is Annex No. 19 (Pleasanton-Sunol Road), and
that the annexation hen not become official, but will become effective at
the end of March. Therefore, Pleasanton does not technically have jurisdic-
tion over the property at present, but it xill take 30 to 60 days for thin
application to be made before the Alameda County Planning Commission and by
that time the annexation will be official. Also, if the County Commission
should rule this a nonconforming use, Pleasanton must then recognize it as
such upon completion of the annexation. Therefore, it would be beneficial
to the City if the Planning Commission rules on the application now, and
it is the recmenendation of the staff that the Variance be granted for a
period of two years so that it may be reviewed at the end of that time.
