M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />April 5, 1962 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to <br />order at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 5th by Vice-Chairman Philip Landon in <br />the absence of Chairman Mitchell. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Vice-Chairman Landon <br />Commissioners Antonini <br />Rego <br />Secretary Fates <br />Absent: Commissioners Mitchell <br />Lozano <br />Ex-Officio Dana <br />Hohn <br />Kamp <br />King <br />On motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Rega, the <br />minutes of the meeting of March 15th were approved with the following correc- <br />tion: Remove the period at the end of the word "construction" in the <br />third paragraph and insert the words "of utilities". <br />Vice-Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the amendment to the <br />Zoning Ordinance providing official zoning of the area included within <br />Annex No. 14 - Adams Court South. No one spoke and the hearing was closed. <br />Secretary Fales gave the staff report, pointing out the area on the map and <br />describing the surrounding area. The staff's recommendation was R-1 (single <br />family residential) Zoning. On motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by <br />Vice-Chairman Landon, and approved by all those present, it was decided that <br />a resolution approving R-1 (single family residential) zoning for Annex No. <br />14 be forwarded to the City Council. <br />Vice-Chairman Landon then opened the public hearing on the amendment to the <br />Zoning Ordinance providing official zoning of the area included within Annex <br />No. 15 - High School Annex. No one spoke from the audience and the hearing <br />was closed by Vice=Chairman Landon. Secretary Falea gave the staff's report <br />describing the area which includes the high school. It was the staff's <br />recommendation to zone the area which is bounded by Arroyo del Valle, <br />Western Pacific Railroad and Santa Rita Road, C-T (Commercial Thoroughfare) <br />and the balance, namely the area in which the high school is located, R-1. <br />The Zoning Ordianance at the present time does not have any specific zoning <br />for governmental buildings, but does include same in the R-1 District as a <br />conditional use. Consequently, the high school would be protected with <br />this type of Zoning. On motion of Commissioner Landon, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Rega, and unanimously approved by all present, it was decided that the <br />portion of Annex 15 bounded by Arroyo del Valle, Western Pacific Railroad <br />and Santa Rita Road be zoned C-T and the balance be zoned R-1. <br />Vice-Chairman Landon then opened the public hearing on the application of <br />Amador Valley Homes, Inc. for a variance from Section 6.5, Ordinance No. <br />309, in order to construct a single-family dwelling on an R-1 (single family <br />residential) District on Lot 17, Block 2, Tract 2110. Mr. Roy Jensen made <br />the presentation of plans, and stated that because of the shape of the lot <br />and the fact that it is in a cul-de-sac, a two foot variance is needed. No <br />one else spoke from the audience. Secretary Fales gave the staff report <br />stating that an inspection of the lot had been made and due to ieo cil>..Q,x- <br />lar shape, this is a most effective plan. The staff recommended approval of <br />the variance and on motion of Com-nissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner <br />Rega, the variance was unanimously approved by all present. <br /> <br />
