moved by Vice-Chairman Landon, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, and carried, that
the City Administrator continue the policy of issuing zoning permits for County
Fair parking by administrative action, and in addition to this summarize specific
guide lines for enforcing Ordinance No. 309 in connection with the maintenance of
temporary parking lots.
An invitation was received from the League of California Cities for Commissioners
to attend the annual League of Cities Conference,
Secretary Fales read a letter from Mr, Robert Williams, County Planning Director,
enclosing two copies of Tract Map 2393, located in Murray Township north of U.S.
Highway 50 in the Tassajara area. Vice-Chairman Landon asked Secretary Fales to
thank Mr. Williams for referring the matter to the Commission and to state that it
is outside our Planning Area.
Secretary Fales also reported receipt from the County Planning Commission of of-
ficial tentative planning map of Tract 2394, which is north of Dublin Boulevard
and west of Highway 21, This amends an earlier subdivision map sent to the Com-
mission which was returned to the County Planning Commission with the statement
that the proposed subdivision is outside the Pleasanton Planning Area and, there-
fore, no recommendations will be made.
A communication was received from Mr. Ken Randail of Blaze Neon in Fremont, ad-
dressed to City Engineer Sypher, retarding three illuminated plastic signs at The
Ivoxy in the Pleasant Plaza Shopping Center and enclosing plot plan showing where
the signs would be situated. Mr, Sypher has just received this letter and has not
yet had an opportunity to check on the matter, but wanted to bring it to the at-
tention of the Commission, Secretary Fales stated the zoning ordinance provides,
among other sign requirements, that in a C-G District signs are permitted which are
appurtenant to a permitted use--maximal limit 300 sq. ft, or 25 ft, in height.
Commissioners Antonini and Lozano questioned placing a sign in the landscaped area,
but were of the opinion that the two signs against the building would be all right,
Secretary Fales agreed to study the aigne in terms of the zoning ordinance and
write Blaze Neon to get more information, also to find out if any flashing aigne
are proposed and if the corner sign would interfere with traffic.. Commissioner
Lozano wondered if this may encourage other stores in the Pleasant Plaza Shopping
Center to consider installing signs near the street.
Secretary Fales read a letter from City Engineer Sypher to Mr, Forrest A, Adams
regarding Resolution No. 175, dated June 7, 1962, concerning development of his ].ot
on Adams Court, Mr. Adams has consulted with Mr, Sypher subsequent to the adoption
of the Resolution, and it was found that the plot plan the Commission approved on
June 7 was misleading as it extends the lot in question 13 feet into what would be
the street, and necessitates placing the three dwellings closer together than the
plot plan designates. Therefore, the City Administrator instructed the City Engin-
eer net to issue building permits to Mr. Adams because he has not complied with the
variances granted in Resolution No. 175. This matter will be piit on the agenda
for Commission consideration at the meeting of July 5.
Vice-Chairman Landon brought up the fact that the Commission shoul3 review in
August past use permits with regard to compliance with the conditions attached to
the issuance of these permits.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:22 P,M, to a study
session, upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, to
meet again at 8:00 P,M, on Thursday, July 5, 1962.
