PSI NUTE 5 <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COP4IISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />June 21, 1962 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was Called tlo order a~ <br />8:00 P, M, on Thursday, June 21, 1962, by Vice-Chairman Ph111p Landon: <br />ROLL CALL showed the followings <br />Present: Vice-Chairman Landon <br />Cemmissionera Lozano <br />Wipfli <br />Secretary Fales <br />Absent: Commissioner Rega <br />Ex-Officio Dana <br />Hohn <br />~P <br />Commissioner Antonini arrived at 8;32 P, M. <br />Reorganization of the Commission was discussed, and it was decided thati due to Che <br />anticipated absence of Vice-Chairman Landon and Commissioner Rega at both July <br />meetings, there will not be a full Commission present. Therefore, it was moved by <br />Commissioner Landon, seconded by Commissioner Wipfli, and carried, that Comffissioner <br />Frank Lozano officiate as Chairman Pro Tempore in the absence of Vice-Chairman <br />Landon until the Commission is formally reorganized, <br />On motion of Commissioner Wipfli, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, the minutes of <br />the meeting of June 7 were approved as presented and unanimously adopted by those <br />present. <br />Vice-Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the request of Mrs. Anna H. Brown, <br />581 Mitchell Avenue, San Leandro, for an amendment to Ordinance No. 309, redesignaC+ <br />ing the property located at 484A and 484B Division Street from an R-1 (single-family <br />residential) District to an RG-15 (residential garden apartment) District, Mra. <br />Brown was present in the audience, as was Mr, Vick Stuchlik, 9600 Crow Canyon Road, <br />Hayward, who spoke on her behalf, Mr, Stuchlik stated Mrs. Brown had made this <br />request several years ago, but it was denied because of a density consideration. <br />She wishes to build a 6-plex garden apartment, Vice-Chairman Landon stated if this <br />property should be redesignated as RG-15, the Commission would have site architect- <br />ural and landscaping approval, Since some of the Commissioners and Secretary Fales <br />have not viewed the site, it was moved by Vice-Chairman Landon, seconded by Comffie- <br />sioner Lozano, and carried, that the public hearing be continued to the July 5 <br />meeting which would allow the staff and other Commissioners to look at the site, <br />Mr. Fales was asked to study the plot plan and have a report ready on this property <br />by the July 5 meeting, <br />Vice-Chairman Landon then opened the public hearing on the request of Mr. Robert <br />Dameyer, 4421 Pleasanton Avenue, for a variance from Section 6,5, Ordinance No. 309, <br />in order to construct a carport in an R-1 (single-faffily residential) District. <br />Mr, Demeyer was present in the audience, Upon recommendation of City Engineer <br />Sypher, Vice-Chairman Landon suggested Mr, Demeyer amend the driveway by making a <br />curve in it and set back the carport 5 feet, It was decided Mr. Demeyer would make <br />another drawing and resubmit his proposal at the July 5 meeting. <br />The next item on the agenda was the request of Mr. Earl Nash, 4318 First Street, <br />for a zoning permit in order to park autos at 187 and 195 Bernal Avenue during the <br />1962 County Fair. Mr, Nash was present in the audience. Secretary Falea also <br />brought up a aiffilar request aubffitted by Mr. Morris Roxberg for his property at <br />477 Weat Angela Street, Secretary Falea stated that zoning permits may be issued <br />administratively without public hearing if the Commission so desires..
