M. on Thursday, August 2, 1962, by Vice-Chairman Philip Landon.
ROLL CALL showed the following:
Present: Vice-Chairman Landon
Commissioners Antonini
Lozano
Rego
Wipfli
Secretary Fales
Ex-Officio Dana
Absent: Ex-Officio Kamp
Hoha
On motion of Casosissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Wipfli, the minutes of
the meeting of July 26 were approved as presented and unanimously adopted.
Vice-Chairman Landon announced the application of Mr. Art. Hilliker, 439A Foothill
Road, Pleasanton, for a Zoning Permit with Site Plan and Architectural Approval,
in order to construct an office building complex on a parcel of property located
on the west side of First Street between Spring Street and Neal Street in a C-G
(General Commercial) District. Secretary Fales stated that although the applicant
wishes action by the Commission postponed indefinitely, he does not want to with-
draw the application, but merely postpone the matter until such time ae he notifies
the Commission. It was moved by Co®d.asioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner
Rega, and carried, that the application of Mr, Art Hilliker be continued until such
time as Mr. Hilliker asks it to be put on the agenda.
The next item on the agenda was the application of P4r. Laurence J, Beal, 2232 Wood
Street, Eureka, for a Zoning Permit in order to conduct a one day, ~ ffile motorcycle
race at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in either August or September, between the
hours of 12 Noon and 5'00 P.M. on Sunday. Secretary Fales explained it is the in-
tention of the applicant to use the smaller oval normally used for trotting races.
Possibly the only problem might be the noise emanating from such an event. Comffis-
sioner P.ega stated it would be an interesting experiment to see how a motorcycle
race would turn out. Secretary Fales said this would give us a basis on which to
judge for the future, and that the staff recommends giving this particular venture
the benefit of the doubt, with conditions attached as to noise, police protection
and time limitation. After considerable discussion by the Commission, upon motion
by Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Co®issioner Wipfli the following Resolution
was unanimously adopted;
RESOLUTION NO. 183
WHEREAS, application has been made under Article 19, Ord. No. 309, by Mr. Laurence
J.
