3. Letter from Robert L. Williams, Alameda County Planning Director, dated September 17, 1962, regarding rezoning of 50 acres of land at the north- west intersection of Highways 50 and 21; after which the Secretary was instructed to notify the County Planning Commission their referral is appreciated, but the area in question is outside Pleasanton's plamsing area and, therefore, the Commission has no xecommeadations. 4, Letter from Robert L. Williams, County Planning Director, dated September 28, 1962, regarding Road Petitioa No. 917 of Gelderman Enterprises to have a road accepted into the County Road System, which is located west of Foothill Road in the vicinity of Bernal Avenue. Vice-Chairman Landon summed up the views of the Commissioners by stating there is a need in this area for a residential collector street, Type A, to serve, according to Pleasantoa's proposed subdivision ordinance, a residential area where lots are 1/2 acre or greater; requirements for sidewalks could possibly be waived, but leek of knowledge regarding the proposed density of the area renders it difficult for the Commission to make a recommendation regarding water, sewer and drainage. It was moved by Vice-Chairman Landon, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, and carried, that the City Administrator be instructed to gather more in- formation regarding the density of the area to be developed before a direct reply can ba given; also that the Planning Commission ie interested in maintaining standards of development prior to actual development; and it is presumed this will be a residential-estate type of development. Vice-Chairman Landon brought up the subject of the contemplated street connecting Mirador Court, Adams Court and Kottinger Avenue, which had been discussed at the meeting of September 20. City Attorney Struthers stated he would report on the legal aspects at the next meeting. Mr. Art Hilliker, Realtor, spoke from the audience with reference Co the County Plan- ning Commission letter of September 17, 1962, which had been read earlier in the meeting, and stated he felt the interest of the Pleasanton Planning Commission should extend as far as the area at the intersection of Highways 50 and 21. Mr. Struthers said this might be discussed at the joint meeting of the Commission and Council on October 8, as it relates to the General Plan Revision. The Co~iasion then agreed that their reply to the subject letter, without recommendation, should not be sent pending further discussion at the joint Commission and Councll meeting of October 8. There being no further business, on motion of Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Com- missioner Wipfli, and carried, the meeting was adjourned at 8:56 P.
