M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COMMLSSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />October 4, 1962 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />8:00 P,M. on Thursday, October 4, 1962, by Vice-Chairman Philip Landon. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Vice-Chairman Landon <br />Commissioners ' <br />Antonini <br />Lozano <br />Rega <br />Wipfli <br />Absent: Secretary Fales <br />Ex-Officio Dana <br />Kamp <br />Ex-Officio Commissioner Hohn arrived at 8:05 P,M. <br />On nation of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, the minutes of <br />the meeting of September 20 uerc approved as submitted, <br />Vice-Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of Mr. Anthony <br />Cavestri, 4126 Walnut Drive, for a Variance fror.,^>~nticn 18.601, Ordinance No. 309, <br />in order to allow construction of a patio cover within the required rear and side <br />yard setbacks, on a single-family dwelling within an R-1 (Single-Family Residential) <br />District. Junior Civil Engineer Frank Addiego gave the staff report recommending <br />favorable consideration by the Commission provided that the structure is brought <br />up to Uniform Building Code standards, since there have been deficiencies reported <br />by the field inspector., Numerous neighbors of Mr. Cavestri were present in the <br />audience and no one objected to the gYanting of the Variance, Letters were read <br />from Anthony and Dolores Rose, 141 Ray Street, and Mabel Martin Howell, 4118 Walnut <br />Drive, signifying their approval of the construction. Commissioners Antonini and <br />Lozano had inspected the property and were satisfied with the plans of Mr. Cavestri, <br />with the condition that the bearing of the structure be transferred from the fence <br />to the brick well, and. that said structure shall meet Building Code requirements. <br />On motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Rega, the following <br />resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. LR7 <br />WHEREAS, the application of Mr. Anthony Cavestri, 4126 Walnut Drive, for <br />a Variance from Section 1E. 601, Ordinance PIo. 309, in order to <br />allow construction of a patio cover within the required rear and side yard <br />setbacks, on a single-family do~elling c-Within an R-1 (Single-Family Resi- <br />dential) District, has come before this Commission; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESO7,VETJ AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Mr. Anthony Cavestri is hereby granted a Variance for construction <br />as proposed in said application, upon condition that the structure <br />complies with all Building Code requirements of the City of <br />Pleasanton. <br />Mr, Struthers read the communications, and action was taken as follows: <br />1. A memorandum from Secretary Fales regarding the P.G.&E, field trip to <br />San Mateo to inspect modified underground utilities on October 13. <br />2, A study session of the Planning Commission and City Council on October 8 <br />re: General Plan Revision and Recreation and Parks Report. <br />
