MINUTE S <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE PLANIQIIIG cot~usszoN <br />Pleasanton, California <br />May 2, 1963 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to ordet at <br />8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 2, 1963, by Chairman Philip Landon. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Chairman Landon <br />Commissioners Antonini <br />Lozano <br />Rego <br />Wipfli <br />Secretary Fales <br />Absent Ex-Officio Hohn <br />Ramp <br />On motion of Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the minutes of <br />the meeting of April 1S were unanimously approved as presented. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of the Planning Com- <br />mission for an amendment to Ordinance No. 309, rezoning the area bounded by Bernal <br />Avenue, Harrison Avenue, Weat Angela Street, and the Western Pacific Railroad <br />right-of-way, from R-1 to RG-15. There was no coffient from the audience, and <br />Chairman Landon declared the public hearing closed. Mr:.Falea, in giving the staff <br />report, stated the original application for rezoning was submitted by Chris <br />Beratlia for one piece of property which is in the interior portion of the block <br />1n question. The General Plan allocates a population density for this area which <br />ie the equivalent of RG-15 zoning. The staff considers amendment to Ord, No. 309 <br />appropriate in this case, and recommends that the Planning Commission recommend <br />to the City Council that the Ordinance be amended to rezone the area from R-1 to <br />RG-15. On motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Wipfli, the <br />following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 213 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 22.101 Gf Ordinance No. 309, the City of <br />Pleasanton Planning Commission, on its own motion, proposed to <br />rezone that property bounded by Bernal Avenue, Harrison Avenue, West Angela <br />Street, and the Western Pacific Railroad right-of-way, from R-1 (Single- <br />Family P.eaidential) to RG-15 (Residential Garden Apartment--1500 Square <br />Foot Minimum per Dwelling Unit); and <br />WHEREAS, this Commission does find that: <br />1. Notice has been given as required by Section 22.104 of <br />Ordinance No. 309; <br />2. The proposed amendment conforms with the Pleasanton General <br />Pion; and <br />3. The public necessity and general welfare requires the proposed <br />change of district; <br />NOW, THERHFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission does hereby recommend for approval by <br />the City Council the pmpoeal of the Planning Commission for re- <br />zoning of the subject property ae described above. <br />Chairman Landon then proceeded to open the public hearing on the application of <br />Duke Bonds, 524 Neal Street, for an amendment to Ord. No. 309, rezoning the area <br />bounded by West Neal Street, Railroad Avenue, Division Street and the Community <br />Commercial District on Main Street, excepting the GG District on the southwest <br />
