<br />RESOLUTION N0. 232
<br />WHEREAS, the application of Mr. W,J. Jacobson, 20880 Redwood Road, Castro
<br />Valley, for a Zoning Permit in order to erect three tenporary
<br />tract signs in the vicinity of Sunol Boulevard and Pico Avenue in order
<br />to advertize the Mission Park subdivision (Tract No, 2473) has come before
<br />this Commission;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
<br />~ RESOLVED,~that the City of Pleasanton Planning Commission does hereby
<br />grant said Zoning Permit provided that the subject signs
<br />meet the City~s zoning requirements.
<br />The next item on the agenda was the application of Mr, W.J. Jacobson, 20880 Redwood
<br />Road, Castro Valley, for a Zoning Permit with Planned Unit Development Approval,
<br />for the area of Annexation No. 22, Pleasanton-Sunol Annex "B" (Tract No. 2473).
<br />Upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Coc®isaioner Rega, the following
<br />resolution was unanimously adopted by those Commissioners present:

<br />RESOLVED: Resolution No, 219, adopted by this Commission on May 2, 1963,
<br />is hereby amended as follows:
<br />1, The date of adoption of Resolution No. 219 is changed from
<br />May 2, 1963 to July 10, 1963,
<br />Under Matters for the Information of the Commission, City Engineer Campbell stated
<br />he sent out questionnaires to ten cities with regard to their planter strip policy,
<br />and, after receiving responses, drafted a Planter Strip Policy for the City of
<br />Pleasanton which he presented to the Commi.aeion, to be administered as an adjunct
<br />to the Encroachment Ordinance. It was moved bq Commissioner Rega, seconded by
<br />Commissioner Antonini, and carried, that it be recommended to the City Council that
<br />the subject Planter Strip Policy be adopted as a policy of the City of Pleasanton
<br />in conjunction with the administration of the Encroachment Ordinance.
<br />Chairman Landon called upon City Attorney Struthers fora progress report in the
<br />matter of enforcement of the Zoning Permit conditions re: Mr. T.W, Goe, Mr,
<br />Struthers replied that he has an answer in Mr. Goe's behalf that the Commission's
<br />action is illegal. The hearing will be held 3n August. It is not a question of
<br />fact but a leg^.1 cJueation cahether or not the diacantinuance of a nonrconforming use
<br />is a valid co:d9.tion to be attached to the granting of a Zoning Permit. Mr.
<br />Struthers stated that the matter will be resolved on this technical question of
<br />zoning law.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Commission, upon motion by
<br />Commissioner Antoai.ni, seconded by !'~~mnissioner Rega, and carried, the meeting was
