M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE PLANNZPFG COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />June 24, 1964 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 1964, by Chairman Philip Landon. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Commissioners Antonini <br />Johnston <br />Lozano <br />Rego <br />Chairman Landon <br />Secretary Pales <br />On motion of Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the minutes of <br />the meeting of June 10, 1964, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of the Pleasanton <br />Women's Club for s Conditional Uae Permit in order to construct a children's play- <br />ground on a parcel of property located on the northwest corner of Regalia and <br />Kottinger Avenues, and owned by the City of Pleasanton, in an R-1 District, Mra. <br />Louise Clausnitaer spoke on behalf of the Pleasaaton Women's Club. There being no <br />further comments from the audience, it was moved by Commissioner Antonini, seconded <br />by Commissioner Rega, and carried, that the public hearing be closed. Mr. False, <br />in giving the staff report, stated that the Pleasanton Women's Club is presenting <br />a new plan with an entirely different concept as a public playground as opposed to <br />a "tot lot" per se, although a tot lot is included in the new plan. A Western <br />theme is proposed, including teeter-totters, elides, swinge, Band pools and rest- <br />rooms. A screening of trees and shrubs is also proposed. The staff recommends <br />approval with thirteen conditions. After discussion by the Commission, upon motion <br />of Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commissioner Johnston, the following resolution <br />was adopted by unanimous vote: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 316 <br />WHEREAS, the application of the Pleasanton Women's Club for a Conditional <br />Use Permit in order to construct a children's playground on a parcel <br />of property located on the northwest comer of Regalia and Kottinger Avenues, <br />and owned by the City of Pleasanton, in an R-1 District, has come before this <br />Commission; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESO?,VED, that the above-named Conditional IIae Permit is hereby granted <br />aub~ect to the following conditions: <br />1. The turfed area as indicated on the approved plan on file in <br />City Hall shall be fully sprinklexed and additional hose bibbs <br />installed £or easy watering of other planting areas; all to <br />the satisfaction of the City Engineer. <br />2. The locations of the "tot lot" sand pool area and the shuffleboard <br />area with pergola shall be exchanged, ae indicated on the approved <br />plan on file in City Ha11. <br />3. Sanitary sewer service and permanent rest rooms shall be installed <br />to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. <br />4. All necessary permits shall be obtained for construction of the <br />rest rooms and pergola. <br />5. All redrock paths, ae indicated on the approved plan, shall be <br />coastructed with header boards. <br />
