<br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at
<br />8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 8, 1964, by Chairman Philip Landon.
<br />ROLL CALL showed the following:
<br />Present: Commissioners Antonini

<br />Chairman Landon
<br />Absent: Secretary Fales
<br />City Engineer Alan Campbell acted ae Secretary Pro Tempore for
<br />this meeting.
<br />On motion of Co:mniesioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the minutes
<br />of the meeting of June 24, 1964, were approved as presented by unanimous vote.
<br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of Emilio Brondolo,
<br />Route 1, Box 3, Sunol Blvd., for a Variance from Section 14.200, Ord. No. 309,
<br />in order to continue a non-conforming use, a fruit stand, at 5509 Sunol Blvd., in
<br />an I-P District. Mr. Brondolo was present in the audience and stated that he
<br />would like to continue operation of his fruit stand to sell his produce and to
<br />help supplement his income. Mr. Brondolo also stated that hie stand has been
<br />in operation for about two years. There being no further comments from the
<br />audience, it was moved by Commissioner Antonini, seconded bq Commissioner Lozano,
<br />and carried, that the public hearing be closed. Mr. Campbell, in giving the staff
<br />report, stated that a variance to allow this use was originally issued on March 15,
<br />1962, with a two year limitation. Since this time limit has now elapsed, the
<br />staff recommended the denial of this variance on the grounds that this non-
<br />conforming use is no longer compatible with the surrounding neighborhood. After
<br />discussion by the Commission, upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by
<br />Co~iseioner Rega, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote:

<br />WHEREAS, the application of Emilio Brondolo, Route 1, Hox 3, Sunol Blvd.,
<br />for a Variance from Section 14.200, Ord. No. 309, in order to
<br />continue a non-conforming use, a fruit stand, at 5509 Sunol Blvd., in
<br />an I-P District, has come before this Commission;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
<br />RESOLVED, that the above named Variance is hereby granted to continue use
<br />of fruit stand for the period of one year, ending on March 15,
<br />1965, at which time there will be no further review by the Commission
<br />and the use moat be discontinued. Applicant was informed that the
<br />Variance was for the use only and the matter of the building conforming
<br />to codes vtould be up to the City Engineer.
<br />The next item on the agenda was the request of D & V Builders, Inc., for Amend-
<br />ment to Tentative Subdivision Map, Tract No. 2591, Re: Placement of Electric
<br />Utilities. Mr. Campbell read a letter from D & V Builders, Inc., which explained
<br />their reasons for wishing to change the steel poles from the north side of Black
<br />Avenue to the south aide. Mr. Dudley Front, representing D & V Builders, Inc.,
<br />was present in the audience and gave a more detailed explanation as to why this
<br />request had been made. The same number of steel poles will be required. The
