M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE MEET3:k~ <br />of <br />TESE PLANNIt~ COt-~SSIOW <br />Pleasanton, Caltfoxnia <br />3~sly 22, 1964 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />8:05 P.41. on Wednesday, July 22, 1964, bq Chairman Landon. <br />ROLL CALL ehoored the following: <br />Present: Com<aissioners Antonini <br />Lozano <br />Chairman Landoa <br />Absents Commissioner Johnston <br />Secretary Falea <br />Commissioner Rega arrived at 8:30 P.M. <br />City Enginees Alan Campbell acted as Secretary Pro Tempore <br />for this meeting. <br />On motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Lozano. the minutes <br />of the meeting of July 15, 1964, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of the Pleasanton <br />First Baptist Church, 4100 First Street, for a Conditional Use Permit under Sectior< <br />6.306, Ordinance No. 309, in order to develop church facilities at the above <br />address in an RO-15 District. Mr. Charles Delk, architect treisesma~ernaiteeplaar~~ <br />was present in the audience and displayed a sketch showing <br />for the church. Mr. Delk stated that the existing building has an estimated <br />seating capacity o£ 210 - 220 persona. Mr. Deik further explained that the church <br />desires to build in three stages. Stags one, social hall and kitchen with aurfaca <br />parking area; Stage too, two story building containing claesrornse; Stage throe, <br />adult classrooms. There being no further comments from the audience, it was moved <br />by Commissioner Loaoao, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, and carried, that the <br />public hearing be closed. Mr. Campbell, in giving the staff report, stated that <br />the staff anticipates the need of a new bridge across the Arroyo parallel to the <br />existing bridge. To be able to build the bridge to the east of the existing would <br />necessitate the City acquiring a portion of the church site for street improv®ment. <br />Mr. Campbell further stated that the church may be asked for an easement acroats <br />its property for the construction of the Del Valle Interceptor sewer should the <br />alig~ent of said sewer cross Chia property. Mr. Campbell pointed out that iD <br />some other cities, it !a not uncommon to waive the street improvements for the <br />first, or even second stage, when building !s done in several stages. After <br />discussion by the Commission, upon motion of Commissioner Raga, seconded by <br />Commissioner Antonini, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 326 <br />WHEREAS, the application of the Pleasanton First Baptist Church, 4100 <br />First Street, for a Conditional Use Permit under Section 8.306, <br />Ordinance No. 309, in order to develop church facilities at the above <br />address in an RO-15 District; <br />RAJ, TliEREIrORE, SE IT <br />RESOLVED, that the application for a Conditional Uae Permit be granted <br />with the following conditions: <br />1. Chnrch cooperate in Del Valle Interceptor Sewez <br />oonatruction by providing right,-of~aray. <br />2. Church provide right-of-wsq and street improvements on <br />First Street in accordance with Subdivision Ordinance. <br />Ttsia regniremeat waived for first stage; but shall be <br />reviewed by requiring the applicant to obtain a Zoning <br />Permit prior to issuance of subsequent building permits. <br />
