<br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at
<br />5:00 P.M. on 6lednesday, August 26, 1964, by Chairman Landon.
<br />ROLL CALL showed the following:
<br />Present: Commissioners Antonini
<br />Lozano
<br />Chairman Landon
<br />Secretary Fales
<br />Absent: Camndeaioner Johnston
<br />Commissioner Rega arrived at 8:30 P.M.
<br />On motion of Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Antoninl, the minutee of
<br />the meeting of August 12, 1964, were approved ae presented by unanimous vote.
<br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of Frank Auf der Maur,
<br />P.O. Box 54$, Santa Rita Road, for a Conditional Use Pezmit to erect a temporary
<br />warehouse in connection with an existing non-conforming use at the above address,
<br />in an A District. Mr. Fales, in giving the staff report, stated that the principal
<br />existing use ie cabinet manufacturing and storage of the raw materials and finished
<br />products. The present use is non-conforming in an "A" District, as is the proposed
<br />use. This will be a temporary arrangement ae the entire operation ie planned to be
<br />relocated in the near future. A two-year permit was suggested by the applicant.
<br />Mr. Auf der Maur was present in the audience and stated that, at present, there ie
<br />no building available to rent for this purpose, and that he desires to build on
<br />the same site as he does not wish to move his operations at the present time. There
<br />being no further coam`ents from the audience, it was moved by Commissioner Lozano,
<br />seconded by Commissioner Antonini, and carried, that the public hearing be closed.
<br />After diacusoion by the Commission, upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded
<br />by Commissioner Lozano, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote:
<br />RESOLUTION N0. 333
<br />WHEREAS, the application of Prank Auf der Maur, P.O. Box 548, Santa Rita
<br />Read, for a Conditional Uae Permit to erect a temporary warehouse
<br />in connection with an existing non-conforming use at the address, in an A
<br />District, has come before this Commission;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
<br />RESOLVID, that the above-named Conditional Use Permit is hereby approved
<br />for a period of time not to exceed two years, and said building
<br />must meet all City Ordinance and Code requlremente.
<br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of Mr, and Mra. Chester
<br />Rossi, 9838 MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland, for a Variance from Sections 8.500 and
<br />16.602, Ordinance No. 309, in order to allow development of a lot with reduced width
<br />and allow an accessory building on the rear property line, at 492 St. John Street,
<br />in an RG-15 District. In gibing the staff report, Mr. False stated that this was
<br />an existing lot of record prior to the adoption of the Zoning Ordinance or the zon-
<br />ing to RG-15. The only principal p°rmitted uses in this zone are multiple dwellings
<br />or non-commercial horticulture. The second part of the Variance ie for an accessory
<br />building to be built on the rear property line. Section 16.602 requires at least
<br />a 5 ft. setback from rear aad aide lot lines, so a Variance from this section is
<br />required. It is eeaumed that the accessory building will be a carport or garage.
<br />Before any change in the present use of the property ie made, a Zoning Permit will
<br />be required for Site Plan and Architectural Approval. Mr. Beck of Murphy Realty
<br />was present in the audience and represented A`a. and Mra. Roeai. Mr. Back stated
<br />that a brick wall would be built in the rear with three carports to accommodate
<br />parking for a four-plea. There being no further comments from the audie~e, it was
