<br />The xagularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at
<br />8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, January 13, 1965, by Chairman Landon.
<br />ROLL CALL showed the following:
<br />Present: Commissioners Antonini
<br />Johnston
<br />Lozano
<br />Raga
<br />Chairman Landon
<br />Absent: Secretary Fales
<br />City Engineer Alan Campbell acted as Secretary Pro Tempore for this meet-
<br />in~.
<br />Upon motion of Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the minutes
<br />of the meetings of December 23, 1964, and January 6, 1965, were approved ae pre-
<br />sented by unanimous vote,
<br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of the Planning Commis-
<br />sion for certain amendments to Article 14 (Industrial Park District), Ord. No. 309.
<br />Mr. Campbell reviewed the memorandum on this subject dated Pecember 11, 1964, from
<br />the Planning Commission to the City Council. There being no comments from the
<br />audience, it was moved by Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Lozano,
<br />and carried, that the public hearing be closed. Upon motion of Commissioner
<br />Johnston, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the following resolution was adopted
<br />by unanimous vote:
<br />RESOLUTION N0. 372
<br />RESOLVED:
<br />A public hearing having been duly held and no protest heard,
<br />the Planning Commission does hereby recommend that the City
<br />Council amend Article 14 of Ordinance No. 309, concerning
<br />Industrial Park regulations, as shown on Report dated
<br />December 11, 1964, from the Planning Commie sion to the City
<br />Council.
<br />Chairman Landon then opened the public hearing on the application of Frank Auf der
<br />Maur, 4436 Alirador Drive, for a Variance from Sectiors9.201 and 17.703, Ord. No.
<br />309, in order to install a sign with a total area exceeding 20 feet and located
<br />within the front yard setback, at 1400 Santa Rita Road, in a C-0 District. Mr.
<br />Campbell, in giving the staff report, stated that on December 23, 1964, application
<br />for Zoning Permit 264-31 came before the Commission for the subject sign. At that
<br />time it wea determined by the Commission that it should be treated ae a sign rather
<br />than a wall, and that the necessary variances should be applied for. The staff
<br />recommends the Variance be grunted. Mr. Campbell suggested that Item 4(a) on the
<br />agenda, the application of Mr, Auf der Maur fora Zoning Permit in order to erect
<br />the subject sign, which was continued from December 23, 1964, also be considered at
<br />this time on the agenda. The staff recommends the Zoning Permit ba granted subject
<br />to the approval of the Vaxi.ance application. Frank Auf der P4aur was present in the
<br />audience, and spoke on behalf of the application. There being no further comments
<br />from the audience, it was moved by Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Antonini, and carried, that the public hearing be closed, After discussion by the
<br />Co~iseion, upon motion of Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commissioner Johnston,
<br />the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote:
