Chairman Landon opened the public heating (continued from April 28, May 12,
<br />May 26, June 9 and June 23, 1965) on the application of Mra. Cheater Rossi,
<br />9838 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland, fore Variance from the requirements of Ord.
<br />No. 309, in order to construct multiple dwelling unite with a reduced site
<br />width, rear yard, aide yard and driveway, at 492 St. John St., in an RG-15
<br />District. Mr. Campbell stated that the staff had received a telephone call
<br />from the applicant requesting the public hearing be put over to August 25,
<br />1965, and indicated that a follow-up by letter to that effect was forthcoming.
<br />It wee moved by Chairman Landon, seconded by Commissioner Rega, and carried,
<br />that the above-described public hearing be continued to the meeting of August
<br />25, 1965.
<br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of First Pleasanton
<br />Investors, 582 Market St., San Francisco, for a Conditional Uae Permit in order
<br />to erect a temporary tract sign southeast of the intersection of U.S, Highway
<br />50 and Santa Aita Road, in a C-T District. Mr. George Oakes stated that
<br />appropriate wording would be put on this sign to include Pleasanton, such ae
<br />"Welcome to Pleasanton" or something similar, that landscaping would be done
<br />around sign for its general improvement. There being no further comments
<br />from the audience, it was moved by Commissioner Lozano, seconded by Commis-
<br />sioner Johnston, and carried, that the public hearing be cloned. After
<br />diacueeion by the Commission, upon motion of Chairmen Landon, seconded by
<br />Commissioner Lozano, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote
<br />of the Commieaionere:

<br />RESOLVED:
<br />The City Planning Commission, after the required public
<br />hearing, hereby approves application of First Pleasanton
<br />Investors, 582 Market St., San Francisco, for a Condi-
<br />tional Une Permit in order to erect a temporary tract
<br />sign southeast of the intersection of U.S. Highway 50
<br />and Santa Rita Roed, in a C-T District.
<br />The next item on the agenda was the application of A. J. Avilla, 991 Roae Ave.,
<br />for a Variance from Section 8.500, Ord. No. 309, in order to construct a duplex
<br />on a lot with reduced Bite width, on a parcel of property adjacent on the west
<br />to 929 Roee Ave., in an RG-15 District; and also Zoning Permit for application
<br />of A. J. Avilla, 991 Roae Ave., with Site Plan, Architectural and Landscape
<br />Approval in order to construct above mentioned duplex; after diacueeion about
<br />a possible minor subdivision, Commissioner Rege moved, Commissioner Johnston
<br />seconded, and the motion carried, that Chia be continued to the meeting of
<br />July 28, 1965.
<br />The next item on the agenda was the application of the Planning Commission for
<br />an amendment to Ord. No. 309 rezoning the following areas:
<br />1. All that area bounded by the centerlines of Abbie St., First St.,
<br />Sunol Blvd., Main St., and Bernal Ave., from the C-C to the C-0
<br />District.
<br />2. All that area bounded by the centerlines of Augustine St., Bernal
<br />Ave., Main St., and a line parallel to Bernal Ave. and 150 feet
<br />northerly thereof, from the C-C to the C-0 District.
<br />3. All that area bounded by the centerlines of Harrison St.,
<br />Augustine St., Bernal Ave., and a line parallel to Bernal
<br />Ave. and 150 feet northerly thereof, from the R-1 to the C-0
<br />District.
<br />After diacueeion regarding realignment of Bernal Ave., and rezoning future
<br />civic center site, Commissioner Johnston moved public hearing be closed,
<br />Commissioner Lozano seconded, and the motion carried. In accordance with the
<br />General Plan and City Council Plan, Cemmiaeioaer Antonini moved, seconded by
<br />Commissioner Lozano, and carried, that the following resolution be adopted:
