RESOLUTION N0. 451
<br />WHEREAS, the application of Ad-Art, Inc., 1715 64th St., Emeryville,
<br />fora Variance from Section 17.706, Ord. No. 309, in order
<br />to install an advertizing sign in connection with Edgren Motors,
<br />234 Main St., in a C-G District, has come before this Commission;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
<br />RESOLVED, that the above-named Variance ie hereby denied.
<br />The next item on the agenda was the application of Kinney E. Griffin, 4510 Williams
<br />St., Freaant, for a Variance from Section 8.500, Ord. No. 309, to permit a reduced
<br />front-yard setback, and to permit construction of a carport with the rear-yard set-
<br />back, in connection with the construction of 14 multiple dwelling unite at 4795
<br />Harrison St., in an RG-15 District. Mr. False, in presenting the staff report,
<br />stated that it was the opinion of the staff that the first part of the Variance
<br />concerning the set-back was not necessary in that a previous Variance was still
<br />applicable. However, he went on to say that the City Attorney should probably rule
<br />on this. In the opinion of Mr. Struthers, the Variance ie valid eo long ae the
<br />building permit ie applied for within six months of the date of granting, therefore
<br />no action was necessary on the first part of the Variance. There being no comment
<br />from the audience, it was moved by Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Johnston, and carried, that the public hearing be closed. After diecuaeion by the
<br />Commission, upon motion by Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commiasloaer Antonini,
<br />the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br />WHEREAS, the application of Kinney E. Griffin, 4510 Williams St.,
<br />Fremont, for a Variance from Section 8.500, Ord. No. 309,
<br />to permit a reduced front-yard setback, and to permit construction
<br />of a carport with the rear-yard setback, in connection with the
<br />construction of 14 multiple dwelling unite at 4795 Harrison St.,
<br />in an RG-15 District, hoe come before this Commission;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
<br />RESOLVED, that the above-named Variance ie hereby granted.
<br />Chairman Landon next opened the public hearing on Che application of the Amador
<br />Joint Union High School District and the Fleaeanton Joint School District for a
<br />Variance from Section 17.400, Ord. No. 309, in order to locate a temporary mobile
<br />office trailer adjacent to the District central office, located at 1331 Santa Rita
<br />Road, in an R-1 District. Mr. Felee gave the staff report concluding that the
<br />proposed Variance request was reasonable. It was moved by Commissioner Rega,
<br />seconded by Commissioner Johnston, and carried, that the public hearing be closed.
<br />After diecuaeion concerning temporary conditions, upon motion by Chairman Landon,
<br />seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the following resolution was adopted by
<br />unaaimoue vote.
<br />RESOLUTION N0. 453
<br />The application of the Amedor Valley Joint Union [sigh School District
<br />and the Fleaeanton Joint School District for a Variance from Section
<br />17.400, Ord. No. 309, in order to locate a temporary mobile office
<br />trailer adjacent to the District central office, located at 1331
<br />Santa Rita Roed, in an R-1 District, is hereby approved, subject
<br />to the following conditions:
<br />1. Said Variance ie issued fora period of two years only.
<br />2. Said office trailer must be removed upon the issuance
<br />of thirty days written notice by the City.
<br />Next item on the agenda for public hearing was the application of Sam W. Garlitz,
<br />225 W. Angela St., for an amendment to Ord. No. 309 rezoning all that area bounded
<br />on the south by Weat Angela St., on the west by Augustine St., on the north by Roae
<br />Ave., and on the east by the C-C District, from the R-1 to the AG-15 District.
