<br />with Life Signs, also in the audience, reiterated that this wee intended to be a <br />large directional sign, to be removed at such time ae all tract homes are sold. <br />There being no further discussion, upon motion of Commissioner Rega, seconded by <br />Commissioner Johnston, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote: <br />RESOLU9`ION N0. 466 <br />WHEREAS, the application of Life Signs, 1038 Center St., San Carlos, <br />for a Zoning Permit ih order to construct a directional <br />honor development sign structure with the Western Pacific Railroad <br />right-of-wey southwesterly of Santa Rita Road, in a C-T District, <br />has come before this Commission; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED, the above-named Zoning Permit La hereby denied. <br />The next item on the agenda was the application of Dr. K. W. Waet, 935 A Street, <br />Hayward, for a Zoning Permit with Site Plan, Landscape and Architectural Approval <br />in order to remodel a structure located at 706 Main St., in a C-C District, for <br />use ae an insurance office. Mr. Campbell presented the staff report, stating that <br />the proposed use appears to meet all the Ordinance requirements except for parking. <br />It was also pointed out that P.G.6 E, will not turn on power until the building has <br />passed the Unsafe Building Ordinance. A drawing was presented to the Commission <br />for study. Dick Nicely, representing Dr. K. W. West, was in the audience, and <br />stated that the building would be brought up to City standards. Mr. Campbell felt <br />that no parking would be better than the present set-up of the long narrow driveway <br />to the back of the building, ae it creates a dangerous traffic hazard problem in <br />backing out onto Main Street. Commissioner Antonini expressed the desire of the <br />Commission to see more old buildings in the downtown area modernised and used, but <br />again the parking problem wee emphasized. Cosmiaeioner Johnston suggested coopera- <br />tion with the local merchants in the Brea to compile ideas for beat use of the <br />building. After discussion, it was moved by Chairman Landon, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Johnston, and carried, that this item be continued to the meeting of <br />October 13, 1965, at which time new ideas and plans will be presented by Dr. West. <br />There being no further business to come before the Conmd.saion, upon motion of <br />Crr:~'saioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Rega, and carried, the meeting was <br />88j^~irna~t at 10:15 P.M., to meet again on Wednesday, October 13, 1965, at 8:00 P.M. <br />4. <br />
