<br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at
<br />8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, Jam,ary 26, 1966, by Chairman Landon.
<br />ROLL CALL showed the following:
<br />Present: Commissioner Antonini
<br />Johnston
<br />Plato
<br />Rega
<br />Chairman Landon
<br />Secretary Falea
<br />Upon motion of Commissioner Johnston, seconded by Commissioner Rega, the minutes of
<br />the meeting of January 12, 1966, were approved as presented by unanimous vote.
<br />The next item on the agenda was the application of Shell Oil Company, 315 Derby
<br />Avenue, Oakland, for a Variance from Section 12.500, Ordinance No. 309, in order to
<br />allow construction of an automobile service station with a reduced front, side sad
<br />rear yard setback, located at the southeast corner of First Street and Vineyard
<br />Avenue, in a C-T District. (continued from January 12, 1966). Mr. Fales presented
<br />the staff report. Mr. Dan Cristopoulous of Shell Oil Company spoke briefly in
<br />behalf of Shell 011 Company. After discussion by the Commission, upon motion of
<br />Commissioner Plato, seconded by Commissioner Rega, the following resolution was
<br />adopted with the roll call as follows: AYES: Commissioners Antonini, Johnston,
<br />Plato, Rega; NOES: Chairman Landon.

<br />WHEREAS, the application of Shell Oil Company, 315 Derbe Avenue,
<br />Oakland, for a Variance from Section 12.500, Ordinance
<br />No. 309, in order to allow construction of an auto-
<br />mobile service station with a reduced front, side and
<br />rear yard setback, located at the southeast corner of
<br />First Street and Vineyard Avenue, in a C-T District.

<br />this Commission:
<br />NOW, TNEREPORE, BE IT
<br />RESOLVED: that the above-named application for Variance for
<br />front yard only, be approved with the following
<br />conditions:
<br />1. Zoning be granted on the other subject parcel
<br />of property.
<br />2. Two parcels of property be combined.
<br />The next item on the agenda was the application of Shell 011 Company, 315 Derby
<br />Avenue, Oakland, for a Conditional Uae Permit in order to allow the construction of
<br />an automobile service station at the southeast corner of Pirst Street and Vineyard
<br />Avenue, in a C-T District. (continued from January 12, 1966). Mt. Fales gave the
<br />staff report. Discussion ensued regarding parkfng, traffic problems, and adjacent
<br />uses. An informal vote, four against and ono for, det®rmined That the Commission
<br />would not look favorably on this application with the adjacent multiple use continued.
<br />The staff suggested that the Commission Continue this matter to the meeting of
<br />February 9, 1966. Therefore, with t:- consent of the applicant, upon motion of
<br />Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Q~airmaa Landon, and carried, it was, determined
<br />to continue this matter to the meeting of Pebruary 9, 1966.
