MINUTE S <br />of <br />THS PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />February 9, 1966 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, February 9, 1966, by Chairman Landon. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Commissioner Plato <br />Rega <br />Chairman Landon <br />Secretary Fales <br />9bsent: Commiasi.on~r Antonini <br />Johnstor. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commissioner Plato, the minutes of the <br />meeting of January 26, 1966, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />The next item on the agenda was the application of Shell 011 Company, 315 Derby <br />Avenue, for a Conditional Use Permit in order to allow the construction of an auto- <br />mobile service atatioa at the southeast corner of First Street and Vineyard Avenue, <br />in a C-T District, (continued from January 12 and January 26). Mr. Fales presented <br />the staff report which stated that there had been a further meeting with the people <br />of Shell 011 Company in an attempt to develop a more workable plan for the service <br />station site. The comment was again made by the Commission that due to the fact <br />there was only 18 feet between the service station and the residential unite, they <br />still did not feel that these two uses were compatible. After considerable dis- <br />cuss ion by the Commission, upon motion of Chairman Landon, seconded by Commissioner <br />Rega, the following resolution was adopted with the roll call as follows: AYES: <br />Chairman Landon and Commissioner Rega; NOES: Commissioner Plato. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 509 <br />WHEREAS, the application of Shell 011 Company, 315 Derby <br />Avenue, for a Conditional Uae Permit in order to <br />allow the construction of an automobile service <br />station at the southeast corner of First Street <br />and Vineyard Avenue, in a C-T District (continued <br />from January 12 and January 26), has come before <br />this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the above-named application for a Conditional <br />Uae Permit be denied. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of Wanda Aldrich, 393 <br />Rose Avenue, for a Variance from Section 8.500, Ordinance No. 309, in order to allow <br />conformity of the existing structures located at 421 Roae Avenue, in an RG-15 <br />District (continued from January 12). Mr. Falea presented the staff report which <br />pointed out that the major psoblem was the parking situation. Mra. Aldrich and Mr. <br />Al Morris were present in the audience. After discussion by the Commission, and <br />with the consent of the applicant, upon motion of Chairman Landon, seconded by <br />Commissioner Rega, and carried, both the Variance and the Zoning Permit application <br />were continued to the meeting of February 23, 1966. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of the Alameda County <br />Flood Control and Water Conservation District, 224 West Winton Avenue, Hayward, for <br />a Variance from Section 4.500, Ordinance No. 309, in order to construct a water <br />supply pumping station with reduced area requirements on a parcel of property located <br />on the east aide of Santa Rita Road, immediately north of the Southern Pacific San <br />Ramon Branch Line, in an A-District. Mr. Falea presented the staff report which <br />pointed out that the proposed use would be compatible and would meet the ordinance <br />requirements for either of the potential uses for the surrounding area.
