M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />February 23, 1966 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, February 23, 1966, by Chairman Landon. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Commissioner Johnston <br />Plato <br />Rega <br />Chairman Landon <br />Absent: Commissioner Antonini <br />Secretary Falea <br />Director of Public Works Alan B. Campbell served as <br />Secretary Pro Tempore for this meeting. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commissioner Plato, the minutes of the <br />meeting of Pebruary 9, 1966, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />Commissioner Antonini joined the meeting at 8:02 P.M, <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of Wanda Aldrich, 393 <br />Rose Avenue, for a Variance from Section 8.500, Ordinance No. 309, in order to allow <br />conformity of the existing structures located at 421 Roae Avenue, in an RG-15 Dis- <br />trict. Mr. Campbell informed the Commission that Wanda Aldrich had requested, via <br />letter, that her application for Variance and Zoning Permit be continued to the <br />meeting of March 9, 1966. Upon motion of Chairman Landon, seconded by Commissioner <br />Johnston, and carried, both the Variance and Zoning Permit applications were con- <br />tinued to the meeting of March 9, 1966. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of Northern Neon Signs, <br />315 Washington Street, Hayward, for a Conditional Use Permit in order to replace an <br />existing non-conforming sign located at 288 Maia Street, in a C-0 District. Mr. <br />Campbell presented the staff report which stated that, essentially, this was the <br />substitution of one sign for another. Mr. George Dijesu, of Northern Neon Signs, <br />was present in the audience and concurred with the staff report. Upon motion of <br />Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Johnston, and carried, the public <br />hearing was closed. After discussion by the Commission, upon motion of Commissioner <br />Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Johnston, the following resolution was adopted <br />by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 516 <br />WHEREAS, the application of Northern Neon Signs, 315 <br />Washington Street, Hayward, for a Conditional <br />Uae Permit in order to replace an existing non- <br />conforming sign located at 288 Main Street, in <br />a C-0 District, has come before this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVBD: that the above-named application be approved with <br />the condition that the old sign be removed. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of Pacific Telephone <br />and Telegraph Company, 111 North Market Street, San Jose, for a Conditional Use <br />Permit in order to install a trailer on a temporary basis adjacent to 4341 Railroad <br />Avenue, fn a C-C District. Mr. Campbell presented the staff report which stated <br />that this is a temporary trailer for the storage of telephone equipment during <br />installation of facilities. Mr. John Darrell of Pacific Telephone and Telegraph <br />Company was present in the audience. Upon motion of Commissioner Johnston, seconded <br />
