as it would be a barrier through the park. Mr. Patton further stated that if the
park shown is to remain and to expand the park to the south when that area develops,,
that perhaps the canal should be put underground or bridged. After further die-
cuasion, the following conclusions were made by the Planning Commission: Lot
size should reflect a 65 foot frontage minimum. 15~ of lots within the subdivision
should ba 10,000 square feet or more. The community park must have a general
location that is acceptable and capable of expansion into next developer's prop-
erty when developed. Zoning on the designated shopping center to be held in
Interim A until area develops. The institutional site should remain in same
location but the size increased to three acres.
Tha next item on the agenda was the consideration of Proposed Park and Recreation
Facility Naming Policy. After discussion, upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan,
seconded by Commissioner Arnold, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous
vote.
RESOLUTION N0. 593
WHEREAS, the Consideration of Proposed Yark and Recreation
Facility Naming Policy has come before this
Commission:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED: to follow recommendations of Park and Recreation
Facility Naming Policy ae presented .
The next item on the agenda was Referrals from Alameda County. Mr. Falea presented
the staff report which stated that development of this property should be dis-
couraged but listed conditions to be recommended to the County Planning Commission
in the event this argument was not considered valid. The discussion which
followed determined that the Land use for a service station was acceptable and
concurrence with the stated conditions was evidenced. Upon motion of Commissioner
Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, the following motion was unanimously
adopted.
MOVED: That the County Planning Commission be informed that
the City feels that a service station is an accept-
able land use on the stated corner and of the con-
ditions as stated in the staff report dated July 13,
1966.
Under Referrals from City Council, the matter of mixed lot sizes was presented.
It was determined that this subject would be considered at the next meeting.
There being no further business to come before the Commission, upon motion of
Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, and carried, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:48 P,M„ to meet again on Wednesday, Julq 27, 1966, at 8:00 P,M.
