M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />July 13, 1966 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />8:00 P,M„ on Wednesday, Julq 13, 1966, by Vice-Chairman Johnston. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Commissioners Arnold <br />Garrigan <br />Vice-Chairman Johnston <br />Secretary Falea <br />Absent: Commissioner Plato <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, the minutes <br />of the meeting of June 22, 1966, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />Vice-Chairman Johnston opened the public hearing on the application of Julius <br />Levine, M.D., 1020 Levine Court, Hayward, for a Conditional Uae Permit under <br />Section 7.303, Ordinance No. 309, in order to construct a 125-bed medical nursing <br />facility on a parcel of property approximately 2 acres iW size located on the <br />north side of Neal Street between 4492 Second Street and 306 Neal Street, in an <br />R-2 District. Dr. Levine was present in the audience and offered to answer any <br />questions the Commission might have. Dagmar Fulton spoke in opposition to the <br />application emphasizing that she did not want to see a nursing home at this <br />location. Mra. June Vierra spoke referring to a letter which Mr. and Mrs. Vierra <br />had submitted to the Commission objecting to this type of use in this area. At <br />this point, Mr. Fales presented the staff report which recommended denial of this <br />application. <br />Commissioner Plato joined the meeting at 8:29 P.M, <br />Dr. Levine wan asked to explain the type of Warning home that was contemplated on <br />this site. Dr. Levine explained that it would be primarily for the aged and long <br />convalescent stays. Mr. Herlihy was present in the audience and concurred with the <br />staff report. Upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Commissioner <br />Garrigan, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After further discussion, <br />upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, the following <br />resolution was adopted with the vote ae follows: AYES: Commissioner Arnold, <br />Garrigan and Vice-Chairman Johnston. NOBS: None ABSTAINED: Commissioner Plato. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 587 <br />WUERFAS, the application of Julius Levine, M.D., 1020 Levine <br />Court, Hayward, for a Conditional Uae Permit under <br />Section 7.303, Ordinance No. 309, in order to con- <br />struct a 125-bed medical Wareing facility on a <br />parcel of property approximately 2 acres in size <br />located oa Che north aide of Neal Street between <br />4492 Second Street and 306 Neal Street, in an R-2 <br />District, has come before this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the above-blamed application be denied. <br />Vice-Chairman Johnston opened the public hearing on the application of Standard <br />011 Ccm;pany of California, 225 Buah Street, San Francisco, for a Conditional Use <br />Permit in order to construct an auto service station on a .39 acre parcel located <br />on the southwest corner of Santa Rita Road and Valley Avenue, in a C-N District. <br />Mr.. Falea presented the staff report which recommended approval with stated con- <br />ditions. Mr. Bill Shultie, representing Standard 011 Company, was present in the <br />audience. Upon motion of Co~isaioaer Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, <br />and carried, the public hearing was closed. After further discussion, upon motion <br />of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, the following resolution <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />
