M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />March 1, 1967 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order <br />at 8600 P.M., on Wednesday, March 1, 1967, by Chairman Antonini. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present Commissioner Arnold <br /> Carrigan <br /> Plato <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Spink <br />Absent: Commissioner Johnston <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and carried, <br />the minutes of February 8, 1967, were approved ae presented by unanimous vote. <br />4a. V-67-4. Nathan A. Hill <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of Nathan H. <br />Hill, 4720 Golden Road, Pleasanton, for a Variance from Section 6.500 and Sec- <br />tion 16.602, Ordinance No. 309, in order to erect a patio cover and lath house <br />to be located at the above address in an R-1 District. Mr. Spink presented the <br />staff report which pointed out that in addition to the locational Variance <br />required, the patio cover and lath house did not meet the Building Code requiro- <br />ments. The report further stated that the lath house extends above the fence <br />line and ie approximately one foot from the property line on the rear and one <br />side. Mr. and Mrs. Hill, together with their son Eugene Hill, were present <br />in the audience and spoke in defense of the lath house stating that it was to <br />be used as a plant cover only. Upon motion of Commissioner Carrigan, seconded <br />by C~isaioner Arnold, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After fur- <br />ther discussion, upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Chairman <br />Antonini, the following resolution w~a adopted with the following vote. AYES: <br />Commissioners Arnold, Carrigan, and Chairman Antonini. NHS: Commissioner <br />Plato. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 650 <br />WHEREAS, the application of Nathan H. Hill, 4720 Golden <br />Road, Pleasanton, for a Variance to erect a <br />patio cover and lath house to be located at <br />the above address in an R-1 District, has came <br />before this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT <br />RESOLVED: that the above named application be approved to <br />allow encroachment of the patio structure as shown <br />on the applicant's exhibit provided the appli- <br />cant obtains a Building Permit and brings Che <br />structure up to Code requirements; and deny that <br />portion of the Variance required for the lath <br />house structure, and that the applicant be di- <br />rected to remove Chia structure. <br />4b. V-67-5. William G. Smi1,,,Y. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of William G. <br />Smiley, 4228 School Street, Pleasanton, for a Variance from Section 6.500, <br />Ordinance No. 309, in order to add a room addition to be located at the above <br />address, in an R-1 District. Mr. Spink presented the staff report which <br />recommended approval. Mr. Smiley was present in the audience and concurred <br />with the staff report. Upon motion of C~ieaioaer Carrigan, seconded by <br />Commissioner Plato, and carried, the public hearing was closed.
