<br />M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />March 29, 1967 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order <br />at 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, March 29, 1967, by Chairman Antonini. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Commissioner Arnold <br />Garrigan <br />Plato <br />Johnston <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Spink <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and <br />carried, the minutes of March 8 and March 22, 1967, were approved as presented <br />by unanimous vote. <br />3-1. GPA-67-1. General Plan Amendment. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of the Planning <br />Co~isaion to consider an amendment to the Pleasanton Ordinance assigning a <br />High Density Residential land use designation to the area between Kottinget <br />Avenue and Neal Street, easterly of Second Street, now designated Medium <br />Density Residential on said General Plan. Mr. Spink presented the staff mpcxt chick <br />listed two basic alternative recommendations regarding this matter. Dr. <br />Long was present in the audience and commented on the fine report presented <br />by Mr. Spink. Dr. Long also reiterated briefly on the proposed housing <br />development. Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Chairman <br />Antonini, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After further dis- <br />cussion, upon motion of Commissioner Johnston, seconded by Chairs~an Antonini, <br />the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 655 <br />WHEREAS, the application of the Planning Commission to consider <br />an amendment to the Pleasanton Ordinance assigning <br />a Nigh Density Residential land use designation to <br />the area between Kottinger Avenue and Neal Street, <br />easterly of Second Street, now designated Medium <br />Density Residential on said General Plan, has come <br />before this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORB, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the Planning Commission recommend to the City <br />Council the adoption of a General Plan Amendment <br />(67-1) to redesignate the area shown on Exhibit <br />"A" from Residential-Medium Density to Residential- <br />High Density. (Exhibit "A" will be for only the <br />smaller area encompassing the Pleasanton Gardens <br />reaoning proposal). <br />4a. V-67-6. Pleasanton Valley Comnanv. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of Pleasanton <br />Valley Company, 6000 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, for a Variance from Section <br />17.705, Ordinance No. 309, in order to allow two additional real estate tract <br />signs in excess of the four allowable and of greater than allowable area, <br />to be located at several locations in a C-T, A, and C-C District. Mr. Spink <br />presented the staff report which recos~nded approval with stated conditions. <br />14r. Dudley Frost was present in the audience and apolce relative to the necessity <br />for proper signs for directing people to subdivisions, model homes, etc. Mr. <br />Frost also spoke briefly on size of signs and need for same. Upon motion of <br />Commissioner Johnston, seconded by Co®issioner Garrigan, and carried, the <br />public hearing was closed. After further discussion, upon motion of Com- <br />missioner Johnston, seconded by Coffiissioner Plato, the following resolution <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />3-29-67 <br />
