<br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Omission was called to order
<br />at 8:03 P.M., on Wednesday, April 12, 1967, by Chairman Antonini.
<br />ROT.L CALL showed the following:
<br />Present: Commissioner Johnston

<br />Secretary Spink
<br />Absent: Commissioner Carrigan
<br />Arnold
<br />Upon motion of Commissioner Johnston, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and
<br />carried, the minutes of March 29, 1967, were approved as presented by unanimous
<br />vote.
<br />4a. V-67-L0, Rainier Construction Comoanv
<br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application df Rainier
<br />Construction Company, 6000 Telegraph Ave., Oakland, for a Variance from Section
<br />6.500, Ordinance No. 309, in order to allow an encroachment of a new dwelling
<br />unit into the required rear yard to be located at 2380 Sandpiper tday in an
<br />R-1 District. Mr. Spink presented the staff report which recommended approval.
<br />Mr. Jack Martinson was present in the audience, representing Rainier Construction,
<br />and concurred with the staff report. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded
<br />by Commiasloner Plato, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After
<br />further discussion, upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Johnston, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote,

<br />WHEREAS, the application of Rainier Construction Co., 6000
<br />Telegraph Ave., Oakland, for a Variance from Sec-
<br />tion 6.500, Ordinance No. 309, in order to allow
<br />an encroachment of a new dwelling unit into the
<br />required rear yard to be located at 2380 Sandpiper
<br />Way in an R-1 District, has coax before this
<br />Commission:
<br />NOW, THEREPORE, BE IT
<br />RESOLVED: that the above-named application be approved.
<br />4b. V-67-11. Pleasanton Gardena, Inc.
<br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of Pleasanton
<br />Gardena, Inc., P.O. Box 911, Pleasanton, for a Variance from Section 8.500,
<br />to allow a reduction in site area per dwelling unit and in rear yard require-
<br />ment and Sections 8.602 and 17.305 (7) to allow a reduction Ln parking require-
<br />ments in order to allow a 40 unit senior citizens' housing development to be
<br />located at 251 Kottinger Avenue on a parcel presently zoned to the R-1 District
<br />end under consideration for rezoning to the RG-25 District. Mr. Spink presented
<br />the staff report which recommended approval with several conditions attached.
<br />Mr. Al Morris, representing Pleasanton Gardens, Inc., was present in the audience
<br />and concurred with the staff report. Mr. Morris also answered questions posed
<br />by the Planning Commission. Upon motion of Commissioner Johnston, seconded
<br />by Chairman Antonini, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After
<br />further discussion, upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Plato, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br />WHEREAS, the application of Pleasanton Gardens, Inc., P.O.
<br />Box 911, Pleasanton, for a Variance from Section
<br />8.500, to allow a reductlon in site area per dwell-
<br />ing unit and in rear yard requirement and Sections
<br />8.602 and 17.305 (7) to allow a reduction in
<br />parking requirements in order to allow a 40 unit
<br />senior citizens' housing development to be located
<br />at 251 Kottinger Avenue on a parcel presently
