<br />July 19, 1967
<br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Plamting Commission was called to order
<br />at 8:00 P.M„ on Wednesday, July 19, 1967, by Chairman Antonini.
<br />ROLL CALL showed the following:
<br />Present: Comisaioner Arnold

<br />Secretary Spinlc
<br />Absent: Comissioner Garrlgan
<br />Upon notion of Commissioner Plato, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and carried,
<br />the minutes of June 28, 1967, were approved as presented by unanimous vote.
<br />4a. PPL-67-2. Plannins Camaiasion
<br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of the Planning
<br />Commission for an amendment to Article 18A, Ordinance No. 309, establishing pre-
<br />cise plan lines for alignment, special setback and future street width lines for
<br />Del Valle Parkway from Nopyard Road to Pico Avenue. Mr. Splnlc presented the
<br />staff report which recommended adoption of the amendment. Mr. Gene Pons, E.
<br />Angela Street, spoke questioning the design relative to the railroad crosstn~.•
<br />Mr. Dan Pons, 4242 Vervain Avenue, objected to the proposed alignment and stated
<br />that he fe1C the parkway should follow Stanley Boulevard. Mr. John Corley of
<br />Rarablewood Road spoke relative to the cost of structures proposed versus coat
<br />and values of homes, etc., involved in the area. Mr. Earl Augustus of Stanley
<br />Boulevard stated that some time ago he had submitted a map aad wondered if the
<br />proposal he had offered had been considered. Mr. Augustus was advised that his
<br />proposal related more to the Valley Avenue loop than to the Del Valle Parkway.
<br />Mr. George Garibaldi of Vervain Avenue asked whether or not the City is prepared
<br />to do anything about purchasing land. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded
<br />by Co®issioner Plato, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After
<br />further discussion, upon motion of Cat~issioner Arnold, seconded by Chaiman
<br />Antonini, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br />WHBREAS, the application of the Planning Co:mission for an amendment
<br />to Article 1SA, Ordinance No. 309, establishing precise plan
<br />lines for alignment, special setback and future street width
<br />lines for Del Valle Parkway from Nopyard Road to Pico Avenue,
<br />has come before this Commission:
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
<br />RESOLVBD: that the Planning Commission hereby recommends to the City
<br />Council an amendment Co Article 18A, Ordinance No. 309, adopt-
<br />• ing precise plan lines for Del Valie Parkway from Nopyard Read
<br />to Pico Avenue in accordance with Exhibit "A".
<br />4b. RZ-67-3, John A. Comer.
<br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of John A. Comer,
<br />1949 West Winton Avenue, Hayward, for an amendment to Ordinance No. 309, amending
<br />the district boundaries of the Zoning Map by redesignating property located at
<br />4).50 Stanley Boulevard from the R-i District to the RG-15 District. Mr. Spinlc
<br />presented the staff report which reconmendad approval subject to stated conditions.
<br />Mr.. John Corley, representing Mr. Comer, stated that approximately one-half of
<br />Mr. Comer's property would be taken for the Parkway. Upon motion of Chairman
<br />F.ntonini, seconded by Cocx~issioner Arnold, and carried, the public hearing was
<br />c'.osed. After further discussion, upon motion of Commissioner Plato, seconded
<br />by Commissioner Arnold, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.
