M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COt~AfISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />September 13, 1967 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Comtaiasion was called to order <br />at 8:07 P.M, on Wednesday, September 13, 1967, by Chairman Antonini. <br />PRESENT: Commissioner Arnold <br /> Garrigan <br /> Gibbs <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Spink <br />ABSENT: Commissioner. Plato <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and carried, <br />the minutes of August 23, 1967, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />3a. Meeting Oxen for anv Member of the Audience to Address_ the Planninit Commissio:: <br />Mr. George Kieffer addressed the Commission stating that he would prefer to discuss <br />the matter early that was scheduled on the agenda under 7a, rather than to wait <br />as Mr. Rieffer had another meeting to attend the same evening. This matter <br />was concerning the proposed Shell Service Station development on Hopyard Road <br />south of Interstate 580. Mr. Kieffer stated that the signs would be limited <br />to the word SHELL on the end of the canopy. It was further explained that the <br />lack of landscaping was due to the fact that Mr. Kieffer was waiting for the <br />Hopyard Road realignment plans. The Commission reviewed the plans submitted, <br />but no action was taken. <br />4a. RZ-67-11. Planning Commission. Chairman Antonini opened the public hearir~ <br />on the application of the Planning Commission to consider the adoption of a <br />new Zoning Ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 309 and all amendments thereto <br />and adopting zoning regulations controlling the uses of land; the density <br />of population; the bulk, location and uses of structures; the areas and <br />dimensions of sites; and the appearance of certain uses, structures, and <br />signs; requiring the provision of usable open space, screening and landscaping, <br />and off-street loading facilities; controlling the location, size and illumi- <br />nation of signs; providing for the amendment of district boundaries and the <br />regulations; and providing for the administration and enforcement of the <br />regulations. Mr. Spink presented the staff report, suggesting sessions and <br />proposed dates. THE REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR TBE MEETING OF SEP- <br />TEMBER 27, 1967, SHALL BS CONTINUED TO THE MEETING OF OCTOBER 4, 1167, FOR <br />CONSIDERATION. Dudley Frost, representing the Chamber of Commerce, stated <br />the date of September 27th would give them more time to consider the <br />Planning Director's comments on the various items. After further discussion, <br />UPON MOTION OF COMMISSIONER GARRIGAN, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER ARNOLD, <br />AND CARRIED, TAE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CONTINUED TO THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING <br />ON SEPTEMBER 27, 1967. IT WAS AGREED TO ADOPT THE FOLLOWING DATES FOR <br />CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARINGS: SEPTEMBER 27, RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT CONTROL; <br />OCTOBER 18, COMMERCLAL DEVELOPMENT CONTROLS; NOVEMBER 1, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOP- <br />MENT CONTROL; NOVEMBER 15, PUD AND MISCELLANEOUS; DECEMBER 6y SUMMARY AND <br />REBUTTAL AND RECQMMENDATION. <br />4b. UP-67-14. Manuel Mederios. Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing <br />on the application of Manuel Mederios, 3835 Vineyard Avenue, for a Conditional <br />Use Permit under Sec. 8.204, Ordinance No. 309 for the purpose of moving a <br />garage structure onto the above premises in an RG-25 District. Mr. Spink <br />presented the staff report. Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by <br />Commissioner Arnold, and carried, the public hearing was closed. Upon motion <br />of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, the following <br />resolution was adopted by unanimous vote: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 70> <br />WHEREAS, the application of Manuel Mederios, 3835 Vineyard <br />Avenue, for a Conditional Use Permit under Sec. 8.204, <br />Ordinance No. 309 for the purpose of moving a garage <br />structure onto the premises in an RG-25 District, has <br />come before this Commission: <br />9-13-67 <br />
