ROLL CALL showed the following: Present: Commissioner Carrigan Arnold Gibbs Vice-Chairman Plato Secretary Castro Absent Chairman Antonini APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes were corrected as follocas: Co®issioner Plato's objection to Ordinance No. 501, as stated in the minutes, was changed to a Resolution as follaas; Upon motion of Commissioner Plato, seconded by Commissioner Gibbs, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote: RESOLUTION N0. 739 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 501, providing for automatic termina- tion of appointment for absence from meetings of the Planning Commissioners has been considered by the Planning Commission, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Planning Commission unanimously objects to the restrictions imposed by Ordinance No. 501. 3. MEETING OPEN TO MEMBBRS OF THE AUDIENCE Mr. Vic Bailey, 4565 Black Avenue, aeKed if the Commission had taken the responsibility to close the Hopyard Road crossing of Interstate 580. The Commission informed Mr. Bailey that the action was taken by the State, and endorsed by the City Councils of Livermore and Pleasanton. Mr. Bailey expressed his disapproval of this action, stating it seemed unnecessary. Sa. UP-67-20 Pleasanton Citv Council. Vice-Chairman Plato opened the public hearing on the application of the Pleasanton City Council for a Conditional Use Permit under Section 11.301 for the installation of an interim public library facility in a portable modulux building to be located at 492 St. John Street. Mr. Castro pre- sented the staff report suggesting two possible locations for the library on the property at 492 St. John Street. Mr. Castro stated there were no substantial savings in locating the building to the front or the rear of the lot. The staff recommended the location of Concept X12. After further discussion, upon motion of Commissioner Carrigan, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, and carried, the public hearing was closed. Upon motion of Commissioner Carrigan, seconded by Commissioner Gibbs, the follow- ing resolution was adopted by unanimous vote: RESOLUTION N0, 74 WHBREAS, the application of the Pleasanton City Council for a Conditional Use Permit under Section 11.301 (UP-67-20) for the installation of an interim public library facility in a portable modulwc building, located at 492 St. John Street, has come before this Commission, _1_ 12-13-67
