Sc. RZ-68-1, Planning Commission. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of the Planning <br />Commission for an amendment to Ordinance No. 309 amending the zoning map to <br />rezone frrnn (C-N) Neighborhood Commercial and (A) Agriculture to (R-1 and <br />R-2) one-and-Cwo-family residence that parcel of land generally located at <br />the southeast corner of Black Avenue and Hopyard Road - said parcel containing <br />more or less 5.4 acres. Mr. Castro presented the staff report, recommending <br />R-1 or R-2 zoning for the triangular area bordered by Black Avenue and Hopyard <br />Road. It was noted that R-2 zoning would allow either an institution or con- <br />valeacent home in the subject area. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded <br />by Commissioner Plato, and carried, the public hearing was closed. Upon motion <br />of Commissioner Plato, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, the following resolu- <br />tion was adopted by unanimous vote: <br />RBSOLUTION NO. 755 <br />WHEREAS, the application of the Planning Commission for an <br />amendment to Ordinance No. 309 (RZ-68-1) amending <br />the zoning map to rezone from C-N and A to R-1 and <br />R-2 that parcel of land generally located at the <br />southeast corner of Black and Hopyard, said parcel <br />containing more or less 5.4 acres, has come before <br />this Commission, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the Planning Commission recommends to the <br />City Council approval of the above application, <br />in accordance with Exhibit A. <br />Sd Se 6d V-68-1 UP-68-1 Z-68-4 - First _National Bank of_ Pleasanton. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of First National <br />Bank of Pleasanton for a Variance to Section 17.706 to permit the construction <br />of a free-standing sign to exceed the height Limitation by 3 feet 6 inches at <br />749 Main Street. The public hearing on Conditional Use Permit UP-68-1 to <br />allow the construction of a free-standing sign with alternating features super- <br />imposed over the words "First National" at 749 Main Street was opened at-the <br />same time. Mr. Harding concurred with the staff report as presented by Mr. <br />Castro. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, <br />and carried, the public hearing was closed. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, <br />seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, the following resolution was adopted by <br />unanimous vote: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 756 <br />WHEREAS, the applications of First National Bank, 700 <br />Main Street, for a Variance (V-68-1) to permit <br />construction of a free-standing sign to exceed <br />the height limitation by 3 feet 6 inches at 749 <br />Main Street, and for a Conditional Uae Permit <br />(UP-68-1) to allow construction of a free-standing <br />sign with alternating features superimposed over <br />the words "First National" at 749 Main Street, <br />have come before this Commission, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the above applications be approved. <br />Z-68-4, First National Bank. <br />The Commission next considered the application of First National Bank for a <br />Zoning Permit Z-68-4 to allow moving the existing free-standing sign from <br />700 Main Street to the northeasC corner of Main Street and St. John streets, <br />or 749 Alain Street. UPON MOTION OF CHAIRMAN ANTONINI, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />PLATO, AND CARRIED, IT WAS DETERMINED TO APPROVE ZONING PERMIT 2-68-4 WITH THE <br />FOLLOWING CONDITION: <br />1. That said structure shall be erected and placed as per description outlined <br />on the Site Plan submitted, labeled Exhibit A. <br />2. 2-14-68 <br />
