Sc. RZ-68-1, Planning Commission. Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of the Planning Commission for an amendment to Ordinance No. 309 amending the zoning map to rezone frrnn (C-N) Neighborhood Commercial and (A) Agriculture to (R-1 and R-2) one-and-Cwo-family residence that parcel of land generally located at the southeast corner of Black Avenue and Hopyard Road - said parcel containing more or less 5.4 acres. Mr. Castro presented the staff report, recommending R-1 or R-2 zoning for the triangular area bordered by Black Avenue and Hopyard Road. It was noted that R-2 zoning would allow either an institution or con- valeacent home in the subject area. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Plato, and carried, the public hearing was closed. Upon motion of Commissioner Plato, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, the following resolu- tion was adopted by unanimous vote: RBSOLUTION NO. 755 WHEREAS, the application of the Planning Commission for an amendment to Ordinance No. 309 (RZ-68-1) amending the zoning map to rezone from C-N and A to R-1 and R-2 that parcel of land generally located at the southeast corner of Black and Hopyard, said parcel containing more or less 5.4 acres, has come before this Commission, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Planning Commission recommends to the City Council approval of the above application, in accordance with Exhibit A. Sd Se 6d V-68-1 UP-68-1 Z-68-4 - First _National Bank of_ Pleasanton. Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of First National Bank of Pleasanton for a Variance to Section 17.706 to permit the construction of a free-standing sign to exceed the height Limitation by 3 feet 6 inches at 749 Main Street. The public hearing on Conditional Use Permit UP-68-1 to allow the construction of a free-standing sign with alternating features super- imposed over the words "First National" at 749 Main Street was opened at-the same time. Mr. Harding concurred with the staff report as presented by Mr. Castro. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, and carried, the public hearing was closed. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote: RESOLUTION N0. 756 WHEREAS, the applications of First National Bank, 700 Main Street, for a Variance (V-68-1) to permit construction of a free-standing sign to exceed the height limitation by 3 feet 6 inches at 749 Main Street, and for a Conditional Uae Permit (UP-68-1) to allow construction of a free-standing sign with alternating features superimposed over the words "First National" at 749 Main Street, have come before this Commission, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the above applications be approved. Z-68-4, First National Bank. The Commission next considered the application of First National Bank for a Zoning Permit Z-68-4 to allow moving the existing free-standing sign from 700 Main Street to the northeasC corner of Main Street and St. John streets, or 749 Alain Street. UPON MOTION OF CHAIRMAN ANTONINI, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER PLATO, AND CARRIED, IT WAS DETERMINED TO APPROVE ZONING PERMIT 2-68-4 WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: 1.
