M I N U T E S <br />Planning Commission <br />City of Pleasanton <br />March 13, 1968 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to <br />order by Chairman Antonini at 8:03 P,M., on Wednesday, March 13, 1968. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Commissioner Arnold <br /> Garrigan <br /> Plato <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Castro <br />Absent: Commissioner Gibbs <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, and <br />carried, the minutes of February 28, 1968, were approved as presented. <br />Sa) Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of L.J. <br />Seiferth, 302 Kottinger Avenue. Mr. Castro presented the staff report, and <br />noted that a letter had been received from a neighbor of the Seiferth's, <br />Mary Silva, stating she had no objection to the accessory structure. Mr. <br />Seiferth was questioned if there would he a firewall; he stated he plane <br />to stucco the property 11ne exterior wall. Mr. Seiferth noted that the <br />proposed location was the most suitable because of the large number of trees <br />on the property. Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Chairman <br />Antonini, and carried, the public hearing was closed. Upon motion of <br />Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Plato, the following Reao7n- <br />tion was adopted by unanimous vote: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 762 <br />WHEREAS, the application of L. J. Seiferth, 302 Kottinger <br />Avenue, for a Variance (V-68-2) to Section 16.602 <br />to permit the construction of an accessory structure <br />to encroach 5 feet into the required 5 foot set• <br />back, located at 302 Kottinger Avenue has come <br />before this Commission, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the above application be approved subject to <br />the following conditions: <br />1. That the accessory use be built in accordance <br />with the plot plan submitted, labeled Exhibit A. <br />2. That the structure be subject to the approval <br />of the Building Inspector. <br />6. ZONING PERMITS <br />(a) 2-68-9,._John J._ Kaskg_ <br />Next was the application of John J. Kaske, 2469 Crestline Road, for permission <br />to operate a janitorial service at 2469 Crestline Road, with the intent to <br />use the home address to store floor polisher and cleaning supplies. Mr. <br />Castro explained the application to the Commission, and stated his objection <br />to this type of use as a home occupation. Mr. Kaskeasked to have the reason <br />for denial explained, stating the same type of equipment is stored in private <br />homes. Mr. Kaske stated he requested a business license, and was referred <br />to the Planning Department for a zoning permit for home occupation. Mr. <br />Kaske stated when the business was large enough, he would stare the equip- <br />ment at the place of business. Following further discussion, UPON MOTION OF <br />COMMISSIONER PLATO, SECONDED 'BY COMMISSIONER GARRIGAN, IT WAS DETERMINED TO <br />APPROVE ZONING PERMIT (Z-68-9) WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br />
