RESOLUTION N0. 769
WHEREAS, the application of Louis B. Miller, 871 Kottinger
Drive, for a Variance (V-68-4) to allow the con-
struction of a swimming pool to encroach 1 foot
into the required rear yard setback for an accessory
use, has come before this Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED: that the above application for Variance (V-68-4) be
approved subject to the following condition:
1. That the Variance is granted for the property
described in the application and as shown on
the plot plan labeled Exhibit "A".
12. MATTERS FOR INFORMATION OF COMMISSION
(a.) Request of City Manager for Planning Commission consideration of a precise
land use for that property generally located north of the proposed community
park; said property generally located south of Valley Avenue between Santa Rita
Road and Orchard Way. Mr. Castro explained that single family residential
was not possible for the entire area because of the adjacent Amador Shopping
Center. Mr. Castro suggested as one possibility an RG-25 or Residential
Garden Apartment District and presented a study of the area showing a possible
apartment complex. Judge William Gale, representing the applicant, asked the
Commission to express their opinion for a compatible use for the subject area.
The Commission generally expressed the opinion they would prefer not to give
a policy statement concerning the area until actual plans were submitted.
lib.) Mr. Castro presented an alternate to the type of roof material approved
by the Planning Commission for Bernard Gerton's building at 818 Main Street.
The Commission however was not in favor of the change, and reinstated the
original conditions attached to the Zoning Permit, 2-67-87.
14.) PLATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS
Commissioner Plato informed the Commissioners that contrary to what was said
at the meeting of March 13, 1968, by the applicant concerning'.the:proposed
sign for the E1 Rancho Motel, there are two signs on the property, one
being the proposed sign which was approved by the Planning Commission, and
the other sign standard currently attached to the existing building. After
discussion, the Commission asked that Mr. Castro talk to the owner and see if
something could be done. The Commission preferred the approved sign to be
mounted on the original sign pole located near the building.
15.) There being no further business to come before the Commission, upon motion
of Commissioner Carrigan, oeconded by Commissioner Arnold, and carried, the
meeting was adjourned at 10:00 P. M., to meet again on Wednesday, April 10, 1968:
~_1_. _.~ ~.. /
