REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA
Mr. Castro noted that Item 5b, Travel Universal and Item 8b, Tract 2896 should
be continued to June 12 at the request of the applicants.
Mr. Castro stated that Mr. Blackburn, applicant for Item 6c, had asked that
his application be removed from the Planning Commission agenda, Upon motion
of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Gibbs, and carried, it was
decided to remove the application of Mr. Blackburn from the May 22, 1968 agenda.,
at the request of the applicant.
OLD BUSINESS
Sa,) .RZ-67-14. Planning Commission
Mr. Castro gave a brief history of the rezoning application, explaining it
had been continued several times pending the outcome of Annexation 56 as certain
properties 1n Annexation 49 and the immediate area would be affected by the
results of Annexation 56. Mr. Castro requested that the Commission make a
recommendation to the Council on final zoning for the subject properties
contained in Annexation 49. The Commission questioned the zoning on the E1
Rancho Motel; Mr. Castro suggested the Commission zone the property what
they thought was appropriate and the Motel could then later apply for a Condi-
tional Use Permit if the use continued as a non-conforming use, Mr. Castro
stated Mr. Amaral, representing the E1 Rancho Motel, asked that the matter be
continued to the meeting of June 12 so he could be present. Commissioner Plato
stated his objection to changing the present County coning of the Motel from
Commercial to another zone. The possibility of an auto row was suggested
by the Commission for the east side of Santa Rita Road because of the access
to the railroad tracks. Mr. Castro stated he felt Annexation 56 included
a substantial amount of industrial land, without additional industrial
zoning on the east side of Santa Rita Road. The problem of a different time
limit for the E1 Rancho Motel than what Western Sierra Lumber Co, was allowed
under Ordinance No. 309 was discussed. Discussion followed on the proposed
staff recommendation for a total of 8 to 13 acres of multiples suggested which
may be excessive.
