M I N U T E S <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />City of Pleasanton <br />May 22, 1968 <br />71,a regularly sched„laa mc:otitl~ of the Planning Commission was called to order <br />by Chairmen Antonini at 8:05 P.M., Wednesday, May 22, 1968. <br />ROLL, CALL showed the following: <br />PRESENT: Commissioner Arnold <br />Gibbs <br />Plato <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Castro <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Carrigan <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gibbs, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and carried, <br />the minutes of May 8, 1968, were approved as submitted. <br />4. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Castro noted that Item 5b, Travel Universal and Item 8b, Tract 2896 should <br />be continued to June 12 at the request of the applicants. <br />Mr. Castro stated that Mr. Blackburn, applicant for Item 6c, had asked that <br />his application be removed from the Planning Commission agenda, Upon motion <br />of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Gibbs, and carried, it was <br />decided to remove the application of Mr. Blackburn from the May 22, 1968 agenda., <br />at the request of the applicant. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Sa,) .RZ-67-14. Planning Commission <br />Mr. Castro gave a brief history of the rezoning application, explaining it <br />had been continued several times pending the outcome of Annexation 56 as certain <br />properties 1n Annexation 49 and the immediate area would be affected by the <br />results of Annexation 56. Mr. Castro requested that the Commission make a <br />recommendation to the Council on final zoning for the subject properties <br />contained in Annexation 49. The Commission questioned the zoning on the E1 <br />Rancho Motel; Mr. Castro suggested the Commission zone the property what <br />they thought was appropriate and the Motel could then later apply for a Condi- <br />tional Use Permit if the use continued as a non-conforming use, Mr. Castro <br />stated Mr. Amaral, representing the E1 Rancho Motel, asked that the matter be <br />continued to the meeting of June 12 so he could be present. Commissioner Plato <br />stated his objection to changing the present County coning of the Motel from <br />Commercial to another zone. The possibility of an auto row was suggested <br />by the Commission for the east side of Santa Rita Road because of the access <br />to the railroad tracks. Mr. Castro stated he felt Annexation 56 included <br />a substantial amount of industrial land, without additional industrial <br />zoning on the east side of Santa Rita Road. The problem of a different time <br />limit for the E1 Rancho Motel than what Western Sierra Lumber Co, was allowed <br />under Ordinance No. 309 was discussed. Discussion followed on the proposed <br />staff recommendation for a total of 8 to 13 acres of multiples suggested which <br />may be excessive.
