It is the intent of Mr. Bras and Mra. Peters to construct a residential <br />complex of townhouses, £~. conformance with the ordinance. It was noted <br />by Chairman Antonini that several previous requests for rezoning in that <br />particular area had been denied. Mr. Castro stated that the General <br />Plan was not too clear in atipulat:ng the boundaries where multiple <br />zoning should be permitted. A study session was requested. Upon motion <br />of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, and carried, the <br />Public Hearing was closed. UPON MOTION OF CHAIRMAN ANTONINI, SECONDED <br />BY COMMISSIONER GARRIGAN, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 802 <br />WHEREAS, the application of Grace M. Peters, 4653 Third <br />Street, for an amendment to Ordinance No. 520 <br />to rezone from R-1 (Single Family) to RM-1500 <br />(Multiple Family) at 4653 Third Street, has come <br />before Chia Commission, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Pleasanton recommends that this matter be <br />continued for six weeks pending further study <br />by the Planning staff. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of <br />the City of Pleasanton on the 14th day of August, <br />1968, by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Commissioner Arnold <br />Commissioner Garrigan <br />Commissioner Gibbs <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Noes: Commissioner Plato <br />d. Planning Commission, Civic Overlay District Amendment <br />Application of the Planning Commission, City of Pleasanton, for an <br />amendment to Ordinance No. 520, establishing Article 14, Civic Overlay <br />District (C-0). <br />Chairman Antonini opened the Public Hearing. Mr. Castro read a communi- <br />cation from the City Manager, urging the Planning Commission to take <br />positive action at this meeting on the above subject. Mr. Castro <br />presented a map describing the precise boundaries of the Civic Overlay <br />District. Basically, the boundaries as recommended by the Planning <br />Director were as follows: Beginning approximately 200 ft. west from the <br />future alignment of Bernal Avenue, continuing in an easterly direction on <br />the future realignment of Bernal Avenue to Pirst Street to Abbie and <br />continuing along the rear property line of those properties which will <br />ultimately front on Bernal Avenue. <br />Mr. Castro also expanded on the staff report and the recommendations <br />as noted on the report submitted by Neill Smith & Associates. The <br />Planning Director further elaborated on the specifics of the proposed <br />district, emphasizing that the purpose of the overlay district was to <br />provide the City with the necessary controls to determine whether or not <br />future developments fronting on or adjacent to the Civic Center would be <br />of a quality and compatibility as that of the Civic Center. <br />Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, and <br />carried, the Public Hearing was closed. UPON MOTION OF CHAIRMAN GARRIGAN, <br />SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER ARNOLD, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED <br />BY UNANIMOUS VOTE. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 803 <br />WHEREAS, the application of the Planning Commission, <br />City of Pleasanton, for an amendment to Ordinance <br />No. 520, establishing Article 14, Civic Overlay <br />District (C-0), has come before this Commission, <br />WHEREAS; said Commission has held a Public Hearing on <br />this amendment and has examined the pertinent <br />maps, drawings and documents and finds that the <br />following conditions do exist: <br />- 4 - <br />
