NOW, THEREFORE, BE ZT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of Y_~.e
<br />City of Pleasanton, approves an amendmer*.
<br />to Ordinance No. 520 to amend Sec. 25.100i1~) to
<br />read as follows: "The power to grant variance
<br />does not extend to use regulations because tale
<br />flexibility necessary to avoid results inc~n-
<br />sistent with the objectives of the zoning
<br />regulations is provided by Article 24 (Con-
<br />ditional Uses); provided, however, that a
<br />variance may be granted consistent with the
<br />provisions of this ordinance to allow
<br />extension, expansion or alteration of a non-
<br />conforming use."
<br />b. RZ-68-7. Edwin W. Carter
<br />Application of Edwin W. Carter, 922 Bancroft.Ave., San Leandro, for an
<br />amendment to Ordinance No. 520 to rezone from R-1 40,000 (Single Family)
<br />to Service Commercial District (C-S), Parcels 3 and 6, Book 946,
<br />Block 3930, Town of Pleasanton, or that property generally located on
<br />the west aide of Foothill Road opposite Bernal Avenue containing approxi-
<br />mately two acres.
<br />Chairman Antonini opened the Public Hearing. The Planning Director
<br />stated that pending what position the City of Pleasanton takes in regard
<br />to the amusement center, the Planning Commission should not consider
<br />any rezoning application in the immediate area. Mrs Bill Patton was
<br />present in behalf of Mr. Carter.
<br />UPON MOTION OF COMMISSIONER GARRIGAN, SECONDED BY CHAIRMAN ANTONINI,
<br />THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE.

<br />WHEREAS, application of Edwin W. Carter, 922 Bancro`t
<br />Avenue, San Leandro, for an amendment to
<br />Ordinance No. 520 to rezone from R-1 40,000
<br />(Single Family) to Service Commercial
<br />District (C-S), Parcels 3 and 6, Book 946,
<br />Block 3930, Town of Pleasanton, or that
<br />property generally located on the west side
<br />of Foothill Road opposite Bernal Avenue
<br />containing approximately two acres, has
<br />come before this Commission,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the
<br />City of Pleasanton hereby resolves that said
<br />application be continued indefinitely until
<br />such time as the City of Pleasanton has resolved
<br />its position regarding the amusement center.
<br />c. RZ-68-8, Richard K. Taylor
<br />Application of Richard K. Taylor, for rezoning~to Planned Unit District
<br />a portion of Parcels 0 & P, Book 8, Page 75, Township of Pleasanton,
<br />or generally that property located at the southwesterly quadrant of
<br />Interstate ~~580 and Foothill Road Interchange, containing approximately
<br />2/;.8 acres, pending certification of annexation proceedings now before
<br />the City of Pleasanton.
<br />Chairman Antonini opened the Public Hearing. Mr. Castro advised the
<br />Commission that at the time of presentation of this application,
<br />Mr. Taylor had not yet submitted drawings for his submittal. Therefc;re,
<br />it was the Planning Department's recommendation that because of lack of
<br />adequate information, this matter be continued until the meeting of
<br />September 25, 1968. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by
<br />Commissioner Carrigan, and carried, the Public Hearing was closed.
