Mr. Jack Bras, representing Mrs. Peters, was present and stated that
the location was in conformance with the General Plan for multiple.
He stated that there is an area along First Street that is undefined
in depth, showing multiple. The question remains as to the depth of
area and how far this multiple zoning can go, and he thinks it covers
both eider of Second Street. Perhaps it is reasonable to extend it to
Third Street under those circumstances. He observed that Third S*_reet
is a wide street and would be able to take this type of zoning. If
that zoning was not acceptable, then he would like to propose a medium
density area shown on the General Plan, which shows some apartmen*..s
mixed with single-family residences on 6,500 sq.ft. lots and same
townhouses. The Planning Director noted that it was true the Gene-al
Plan did not define the depth in that area around First Street, but no
higher density than RM-4000 could be recos~ended at this time by the
Planning Department.
Mr. Bras stated that the actual plan calls for six units, which will
require 2,500 sq.ft., and the proposal before the Commission actually
constituted two lots, 52 ft. and 48 ft., wide, with a depth of 150 ft.
with two houses on them to be torn doom. Mr. Castro stated that the
total width of the combined properties is 102 ft. X 150 ft. Mrs. Peters
owns one lot and is purchasing the other. Upon motion of Chairman
Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Carrigan, and carried, the Public
Hearing was closed. Commissioner Gibbs stated that there have been a
large number of opinions from the residents in the area objecting to
the rezoning. UPON MOTION OF COMNIISSIONER GIBBS, SECONDED BY
COMMISSIONER PLATO, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED.
RESOLUTION N0. 813
A resolution of the Planning Commission of
the City of Pleasanton, recommending to the
City Council the denial of Zone Change 68-5,
filed by Grace M.
