MINUTE S
PLANNING COPQfISSION
Pleasanton, California
Multi-Purpose Room - Valley View School
480 Adams Ct.
September 11, 1968
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order
by Chairman Antonini at 8:00 PM.
1. ROLL CALL
PRESENT Commissioner Arnold
Commissloner Garrigan
Commissioner Gibbs
Commissioner Plato
Chairman Antonini
Secretary Castro
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and
carried, the minutes of the August 28, 1968 meeting were approved as
submitted.
Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and
carried, the minutes of the July 24, 1968 meeting were approved as revised.
5. OLD BUSINESS
a. RZ-68-5. Jack Bras for Grace M. Peters
Application of Grace M. Peters, 4653 Third Street, Pleasanton, for an
amendment to Ordinance No. 520 to rezone from R-1 (Single Family) to
RM-1500 (Multiple Family), Lots 7-1 and 7-2, Book 94, Page 31, Town of
Pleasanton, or that property commonly known as 4653 Third Street.
Chairman Antonini opened the Public Hearing. Planning Director Castro
mentioned that a study had been requested by the Commission at the meeting,
of August 14, 1968, on the multiple dwelling situation in that area. Iri
reviewing the information submitted, a mistake was discovered in the
original survey and a new survey was conducted and new maps prepared,
showing the condition of that area regarding multiple units. In reviewing
the areas in question, which extends from Vineyard to Abbie, the map
describes the present zoning as has been adapted. There are some
multiple areas facing both First Street and Kottinger Avenue. The
type of lot patterns that are shown prompts a recommendation as to the
boundary lines for this area. No changes at this time are recommended
regarding area fronting on First Street. Basically, the area frcat
Kottinger to Abbie is recommended be retained under RM-4000 pending
further lot definition of the area. The Planning Department also
recommended that the area between Kottinger and Viney:~rd be left as it
is, although Kottinger Village may change in years to come. If ir, is
redeveloped, it may be necessary to review the RM-4000 and RM-2500 ~a1
First Street.
It is Planning Department's recommendation that posslbly the area en tits
east side of Second from Kottinger to Neal could be recommended for
RM-4000. The Commission was further advised that they don't have to
recommend to the City Council that this area be changed to PM-4000 at
this time, but that the Planning Department has enough information to
support a request if an application should be received at a future date.
The Planning Department concluded by recommending denial of Mss. Grace r'i.
Peters' application based on the existing land use information and
current neighborhood conditions.
- 1 -
