(Continued
from October 9, 1968).
Chairman Antonini opened the Public Hearing. Commissioner. Garrigan stated
that at the time of the joint study session of the City Council and the
Planning Commission, a suggestion was made to conduct a separate study on
land uses for convalescent rest homes and hospitals. Furthermore, pending
the results of such a meeting, Commissioner Garrigan felt that no decision
or action should be taken on the application of Mrs. Johnson. Chairman
Antonini concurred with this line of reasoning. However, Commissioner Plato
objected on the grounds that the application was received before the proposed
study session was suggested, therefore, a decision should be made one way
or the other or at least a continuance suggested.
The Planning Director stated that Mr. Ed Wendschlag, representing Mrs. Johnson,
did submit a new plan on the Friday before the meeting, but due to the street
pattern proposed, which needed a study and report from the Public Works Depart-
ment, it was felt that a continuance at this time would be the most desirable.
- 1 -
