PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. 2846
RESOLUTION APPROVING A USE PERMIT FOR AMADOR VALLEY
SAVINGS AND LOAN AS FILED UNDER CASE UP-86-41
WHEREAS, Amador Valley Savings and Loan has applied for a
conditional use permit to allow the establishment of a
branch office of a financial institution within the
existing commercial complex located at 1711 Santa Rita
Road; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is CN (Neighborhood Commercial)
District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of
October 22, 1986, the Planning Commission considered all
public testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations
of the City staff concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, as required by the City's existing policy concerning
financial institutions, Amador Valley Savings has an
existing branch operation within Pleasanton's Central
Business District; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission makes the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purposes of the district in which
the site is located.
Neighborhood commercial shopping centers are
appropriate and common locations for financial
institutions. The applicable sections of the
zoning ordinance attempt to consolidate uses that
are complimentary to each other such as major
retail uses (grocery store) and financial
institutions.
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety or welfare, or materially injurious
to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.
The applicant has other similar branch offices
existing throughout the City which have been
maintained in a clean and orderly manner. Uses
such as financial institutions were anticipated
within this shopping complex. Therefore adequate
on-site circulation and parking exist to insure the
- 1 -
