PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2854 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A DESIGN REVIEW FOR THE PLEASANTON <br />LIBRARY AS FILED UNDER CASE Z-86-339 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied for design review <br />approval to construct a one-story, approxiamtely 30,300 <br />sq. ft. library and related facilities to be locted on <br />an approximately 4 acre site at the northeast corner of <br />the intersection of Bernal Avenue and Old Bernal Avenue; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is "P/C-O" (Public and <br />Institutional - Civic Overlay) District; and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of October 22, 1986, the Planning <br />Commission approved a negative declaration for Cases <br />UP-86-42 and Z-86-339 after considering all public <br />testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning these applications; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at this same meeting approved a <br />conditional use permit for the library after making all <br />required findings; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commisiion found the library to be an <br />attractive and useful addition to the Civic Overlay <br />Zoning District. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: Recommends approval of Case Z-86-339, application of <br />the City of Pleasanton for design review approval to <br />construct a one-story, approxiamtely 30,300 sq. ft. <br />library and related facilities to be located on an <br />aprpoximately 4 acre site at the northeast corner of the <br />interseciton of Bernal Avenue and Old Bernal Avenue <br />subject to the following conditions: <br />1. That the development be substantially as shown on <br />the plans, Exhibit A, on file with the Planning <br />Department, except: <br />a. The fountains at the entrance and rear of the <br />library be converted to raised flower beds. <br />b. That the sidewalk along Old Bernal Avenue be <br />widened to 10 ft. and the sidewalk all along <br />Bernal Avenue be widened to 8 ft. to <br />accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. <br />- 1 - <br />
