PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 2854 RESOLUTION APPROVING A DESIGN REVIEW FOR THE PLEASANTON LIBRARY AS FILED UNDER CASE Z-86-339 WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied for design review approval to construct a one-story, approxiamtely 30,300 sq. ft. library and related facilities to be locted on an approximately 4 acre site at the northeast corner of the intersection of Bernal Avenue and Old Bernal Avenue; and WHEREAS, zoning for the property is "P/C-O" (Public and Institutional - Civic Overlay) District; and WHEREAS, at its meeting of October 22, 1986, the Planning Commission approved a negative declaration for Cases UP-86-42 and Z-86-339 after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff concerning these applications; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at this same meeting approved a conditional use permit for the library after making all required findings; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commisiion found the library to be an attractive and useful addition to the Civic Overlay Zoning District. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Recommends approval of Case Z-86-339, application of the City of Pleasanton for design review approval to construct a one-story, approxiamtely 30,300 sq. ft. library and related facilities to be located on an aprpoximately 4 acre site at the northeast corner of the interseciton of Bernal Avenue and Old Bernal Avenue subject to the following conditions: 1. That the development be substantially as shown on the plans, Exhibit A, on file with the Planning Department, except: a. The fountains at the entrance and rear of the library be converted to raised flower beds. b. That the sidewalk along Old Bernal Avenue be widened to 10 ft. and the sidewalk all along Bernal Avenue be widened to 8 ft. to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. - 1 -
