PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2869 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING UP-86-48 FOR JOHN K. SMITH <br />WHEREAS, John K. smith has applied for a conditional use permit <br />to allow religious assemblies in a portion of an <br />existing industrial building located at 1035 Serpentine <br />Lane in Valley Business Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the property is zoned PUD-Industrial District; and <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of November 25, <br />1986, the Planning Commission made the following <br />findings after considering all public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff <br />concerning this application: <br />A. That the proposed location of the conditional use <br />is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning <br />ordinance and the purposes of the district in which <br />the site is located. <br />A chapel in Valley Business Park will not interfere <br />with the purposes and uses of the PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development) - Industrial District. Worship <br />services and church meetings will be held during <br />non-business hours of the Park, Sundays and weekday <br />evenings. <br />B. That the proposed location of the conditional use <br />and the conditions under which it would be operated <br />or maintained will not be detrimental to the public <br />health, safety, or welfare, or materially injurious <br />to the properties of improvements in the vicinity. <br />The location of the chapel is within a business <br />park and will not be detrimental to the public <br />health, safety or welfare or materially injurious <br />to adjacent properties. All services will be held <br />within an existing building during non-business <br />hours of Valley Business Park and will not <br />adversely affect property or workers within the <br />Park. <br />C. That the proposed conditional use will comply with <br />each of the applicable provisions of this chapter. <br />The proposed church facility will comply with all <br />provisions of Chapter 18.124 of the Pleasanton <br />Municipal Code. <br />- 1 - <br />
