Resolution No. 2881 December 10, 1986 The branch facility will be located in an existing building. Parking appears to be adequate to accommodate this use. The proposed use should not interfere with the operations of other uses in the building or in the business park. C. That the proposed conditional use will comply with each of the applicable provisions of the Municipal Code. WHEREAS, This project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recommends City Council amend their policy to permit financial institutions on a case-by-case basis permitting retention of the current policy but allowing for review and consideration of individual applications for financial institutions which do not have an established branch in the downtown area. Allowances could be made in the policy where justification can be made for a location outside the downtown area based on need to serve a particular service or clientele. In addition, consideration can be given to the existing amount of banks and savings and loan offices in the downtown area at the time of a particular application to determine that there is an adequate representation and/or presence of financial institutions to permit locations in areas outside the core area. Section 2. Recommends the City Council approve Case UP-86-54, application of Meyer Properties, Inc. for a conditional use permit to allow fora bank in an existing office building at 5000 Hopyard Road. Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
