Housing and Housing Mix. <br /> <br /> The City Council finds that the Project, through <br />the subsequent development of the Project site, will enhance <br />the City's housing supply and the mix of available housing <br />throughout the City. In particular, the proposed high <br />density development within the property site will help to <br />further the general plan policy set forth in Goal 1 of the <br />Housing Element by providing a mix of types of housing, as <br />well as help further Goal 4 of the Housing Element, by <br />dispersing high density housing throughout the community, <br />especially in areas near public transit, major thoroughfares, <br />shopping, and employment centers. The City Council therefore <br />finds that the unmitigated impacts of this Project are <br />justified by the need to provide housing, to provide for a <br />mix of different types of housing in the City, and to provide <br />adequate locations for housing of all types throughout the <br />City. <br /> <br /> C. Employment Opportunities. <br /> <br /> The Project contemplates the construction of 1340 <br />housing units, 353,000 square feet of retail/commercial <br />development and 1,000,000 square feet of light <br />industrial/service commercial development. <br /> <br /> Over 2500 jobs will be created by this Project. <br />The creation of these jobs is consistent with the City's <br /> <br /> 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
