15 <br />THE CITY OF <br />-- ' ~~ ~ -~- ~'-' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L~~S~4NTONo <br />June 19, 2007 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF ON-CALL CONSULTANT CONTRACTS FOR SURVEYING <br />AND DRAFTING SERVICES WITH THE FIRMS OF BKF ENGINEERS AND <br />KIER 8~ WRIGHT, CIVIL ENGINEERS 8~ SURVEYORS, INC. <br />SUMMARY <br />The City has an ongoing need for on-call land surveying and associated computer <br />drafting services. City staff sent a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to ten local firms <br />from the City's existing database for surveying and drafting services. Six firms provided <br />statements of qualifications. City staff reviewed the qualifications and short-listed three <br />firms for further interview. Based on the firms' qualifications, interviews, and references, <br />staff is recommending that City Council approve contracts with the firms of BKF <br />Engineers and Kier & Wright, Civil Engineers & Surveyors, Inc. for services between <br />July 1, 2007, and June 30, 2010. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve consultant contracts with BKF Engineers and Kier & Wright, Civil <br />Engineers & Surveyors, Inc., to provide on-call surveying and drafting services in <br />the total aggregate amount not-to-exceed $500,000 between July 1, 2007, and <br />June 30, 2010. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contracts. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />No additional funding is needed to approve these consultant contracts. Funding for <br />these contracts is already budgeted under each individual capital improvement project <br />previously approved by the City Council. <br />
