possible, without interruption of the regular sweeping schedule and without additional charge. 4. Manner of Performance. a. Clean Condition Required. Areas to be swept shall be swept by use of a mechanical street sweeper satisfactory to the Director such that upon completion curbs, gutters, and other areas required to be swept are left in a clean condition. (1) A "clean condition" shall be defined as the absence of residue in the streets and gutters upon the completion of the sweeping operation. (2) Pre-sweeping large objects and debris (e.g. manually or otherwise removing for disposal) shall be done for all objects and debris incapable of being swept by the mechanical street sweeper. (3) The mechanical street sweeper shall be operated within the speed range recommended by its manufacturer for proper sweeping, but in no event shall it be operated in a manner so as to leave an area in an unclean condition. (4) Sweeping shall include as many repeated passes as necessary to leave the swept area in a clean condition. b. Maximum Sweeping Coverage. Sweeping shall be scheduled to maximize the area of street and/or parking lot being swept by minimizing interference by parked vehicles. Sweeping shall be scheduled and done in such a way as to minimize noise complaints in residential areas. The Director may require revisions in the hours and/or manner of operation as necessary to maximize sweeping coverage and/or to minimize noise complaints. c. Disposal of Debris. The Contractor shall dispose of all refuse collected by hauling the same to a legal dump and/or transfer station. The Contractor shall be responsible for payment of any and all fees for disposal. 5.
