Exhibit 4-A <br /> <br /> _ AMENDMENT NO. 4 <br /> HACIENDA DRIVE AND <br /> '- SANTA RITA ROAD INTERCHANGES <br /> <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br /> HACKGROUND <br /> <br />During the course of project development, the CONSULTANT has <br />provided the services as contained in AMENDMENT No. 1 to the <br />Contract for Consulting Services dated December 1, 1987, as <br />well as additional services which were outside the workscope <br />of that amendment. The purpose of this AMENDMENT is to <br />recognize, accept, and compensate the CONSULTANT for the <br />additional work performed at the direction of the CITY that <br />was outside the original project workscope and to authorize <br />the CONSULTANT to proceed with the design and complete the <br />right-of-way plans for both interchange projects as des- <br />cribed in this AMENDMENT. It is also recognized that the <br />CONSULTANT has executed the work under an accelerated com- <br />pletion schedule and will continue to operate in this mode <br />to complete the remainder of the assigned work. <br /> <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />The CONSULTANT's work authorized by this AMENDMENT is <br />generally categorized as: <br /> <br />1. Geotechnical (Materials Reports) <br />2. Right-of-way (Appraisal Maps) <br />3. Drainage <br />4. Geometrics <br /> <br />TASK I--GEOTECHNICAL <br /> <br />The CONSULTANT shall perform the required field and office <br />work to expand the geotechnical investigation to cover the <br />added design elements and address the Caltrans comments made <br />on the preliminary Materials Reports. <br /> <br />Task 1.1--Bridge Widening and Auxiliary Lanes <br /> <br />The CONSULTANT shall perform subsurface explorations ad- <br />jacent to the existing bridges (Dougherty RROC and <br />Tassajara Creek) to supplement the record data previously <br />obtained by Caltrans. The work will consist of drilling one <br />deep (100 feet) boring in the vicinity of each bridge and <br /> <br /> <br />
