City of Pleasanton December 21, 1988
Quote No. 7097G Page 2-1

SECTION 2.0

TECHNICAL APPROACH

EES's proposed technical approach is designed to provide the City of Pleasanton
with site-specific information to be used for quantifying potential adverse
environmental impact to the subject property and providing recommendations
for remediating on-site environmental hazards. Our basic approach centers
around maximizing the information obtained from the field investigation to
provide a technically thorough, responsive, and cost-effective program. EES
proposes to install groundwater monitoring wells in areas that were used to
store fuel or solvents used in painting. This is to verify if the shallow
groundwater underlying the site has been impacted by contaminants from these
storage and use areas. Additional wells are proposed for the south side of the
property (Figure 1) where stockpiled soil and debris has been placed. These
wells are to verify if hazardous compounds have impacted the shallow
groundwater on the south side of the property. In addition, representative soil
samples will be collected near the paint shop, maintenance shops, former
sewage digesters, fuel tank complex, and the field area on the south side of the
property. To meet these objectives, EES will utilize a versatile and highly
trained team of in-house professionals in conjunction with innovative field
techniques.
