Sunset Magazine article and also in calendar item; Developed slogan: Downtown <br />Pleasanton...Fall in Love; Developed strategies to market to residents, visitors, and business <br />park employees. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC RESTRUCTURING: The committee includes three board members and <br />approximately ten volunteers. The subcommittees are Business Research (customer survey, <br />business survey, new business information packet), Business Retention (marketing seminar, <br />visual merchandising seminar, and Internet seminar) and Business Recruitment (works to <br />attract businesses which will contribute to the local character of downtown Pleasanton). <br /> <br />DESIGN: The committee includes three board members and approximately seven volunteers. <br />The three subcommittees are Design Guideline and Planning; Historic Preservation and <br />Education (downtown historic walking tour brochure will be done shortly), and; Beautification. <br /> <br />BUDGET DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Assessment revenues are budgeted based on the amount collected in the previous year. Event <br />revenues include the City contribution to the Sunday Concerts in the Park series. Revenues <br />from the Antique Fairs and Heritage Days have been kept at 1999 levels. <br /> <br />Fundraising will include the sale of promotional items (T-shirts, glasses, and pins). The goal is <br />to maximize revenue opportunities from the events sponsored by the PDA. <br /> <br /> Revenues and expenses for Cruise Night and First Wednesdays are based on actual amounts as <br /> these events have already taken place. Cruise Night operated at a loss for this first time event. <br /> <br /> The budget includes a part-time office assistant budgeted for an average of 30 hours per week. <br /> The Executive Director base salary in 2000 is maintained at $36,000. However, the Director's <br /> contract, approved by the Board, includes a 20% commission on new event sponsorship <br /> revenue generated through the effort of the Director. <br /> <br /> Insurance includes general liability, liquor liability, a special policy for Cruise Night, and <br /> Board of Director's liability. <br /> <br /> SR:99:301 <br /> <br /> <br />
