No. 988 <br />Mrs. Dianne Buckman, the applicant, was <br />present and spoke in favor of her applicatio <br />A Mr. Fernandez, 4058 Suffolk Way, spoke in <br />opposition of the application, stating that <br />perhaps this would be the start of many such <br />applications. <br />A Mr. Carson, 4066 Suffolk Way, also spoke <br />in opposition of the application. <br />There being no further testimony, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. <br />The Planning Director did advise the <br />Commission that it is unlikely at the presen <br />time that a professional day care center wil <br />be opened in Pleasanton, due to inability <br />to obtain a proper building or an appropriate <br />site which is zoned for the use. In conclusi~ <br />he stated that it seems the only source of <br />day care for children will have to come from <br />private homes. <br />The Commissioners discussed this at great <br />length, weighing the necessities of this <br />type of operation against complaints from <br />surrounding neighbors. <br />A resolution recommending denial was entered <br />and passed. <br />Sunol Boulevard Area - application of the <br />Planning Commission to consider several <br />General Plan amendments for those properties <br />generally located on the east side of Sunol <br />Boulevard between Interstate ~k680 and Main <br />Street, also said amendment will include a <br />review of the location and acreage presently <br />assigned to the Vintage Hills Commercial- <br />Neighborhood Shopping Center. <br />Resolution: <br />Seconded: <br />Ayes: <br />Noes: <br />Absent: <br />Abstain: <br />- 2 - <br />
